Scouting report – Browns at Chargers

Source: San Diego Union-Tribune

LaDainian Tomlinson is upended after a 12-yard pickup in the fourth quarter.

WHEN THE CHARGERS HAVE THE BALL: Only one team has stopped San Diego’s offense this season, and that team (Baltimore) had some help from Chargers coaches. The Browns have yielded more than their share of yards, particularly on the ground, but their opponents have often settled for field goals. Cleveland has yielded more than 21 points only once, the same number of times the Chargers have been held under 23. EDGE: Chargers

WHEN THE BROWNS HAVE THE BALL: The Chargers won’t have their three best outside linebackers, so look for Cleveland to try and exploit the inexperience of Marques Harris and Carlos Polk, perhaps with some screen passes. It will be up to the secondary not to give up big plays to tight end Kellen Winslow II or wide receiver Braylon Edwards; the latter always seems to be due for a breakout game. Charlie Frye is a mobile quarterback but he is prone to mistakes. EDGE: Chargers
