Chargers place Nwagbuo on IR, sign Garay

SAN DIEGO (AP)—The San Diego Chargers have placed defensive lineman Ogemdi Nwagbuo on injured reserve with an ankle injury, meaning his season is over.

Nwagbuo played in all 12 games, starting five, and had 25 tackles, one sack and two deflected passes.

To take his spot on the roster, the Chargers signed defensive tackle Antonio Garay from the New York Jets’ practice squad.
