Thank you for posting this ’06 Den @ SD video. I almost forgot what a great game it was. And Thank you Mr. Tomlinson for a great, awesome, Charger career. I wish you all the best no matter where you go.
Back in 1978 I became a Charger fan based on a cover of SI showing top draft pick John Jefferson making a one handed touchdown catch. Don Correyall was going to create an air attack in SD. I fell in love with SD even though my Raiders friend said “Are you crazy, The Raiders always beat the Chargers”?
We looked it up and he was right. SD had only beaten them Raiders once in the previous 11 years. SD had 10 fewer wins in head-to-head games. I did’nt care, I knew SD would close that gap. But the gap grew to 23 games when the Raiders beat SD last. (the beauty of that game was that because SD ended tied with Oak for the worst record, and SD lost that game, the Chargers got the #1 pick and not Oak.) That was the pick that SD got Phillip Rivers.
Thanks mostly to LT the Chargers have not lost to the Raiders since and SD is back to only 10 fewer overall head 2 head victories. My fondest memories are of LT carving up the Raider defense. For a while it semmed as he would always get 4+ touchdowns in those games. On the ground; catching or throwing TD passes.
You have given me back my youth LT. You are the best.
    Thank you, Jim Alexander
