At the half way point I thought I would take another look at the 2006 draft board and see how the rookies are doing.

1 Houston Mario Williams - DE 2006: Recorded two tackles and one assist during rookie debut in the regular season opener against Philadelphia (9/10)...made two tackles at Indianapolis (9/17)...had three tackles against Washington (9/24)...recorded first career sack by taking down Dolphins' QB Daunte Culpepper once and assisting on another for a combined 1.5 sacks, had two tackles and two quarterback hits against Miami (10/01)...had six combined tackles at Dallas (10/15)...recorded a sack for a seven yard loss, recovered a fumble and had two quarterback hits in addition to two combined tackles against Jacksonville (10/22)...had his third sack career sack by taking down QB Vince Young, had a quarterback hit and four solo tackles at Tennessee (10/29)...made three combined tackles, two quarterback hits and a sack for a six-yard loss against the New York Giants (11/05).

2 New Orleans Reggie Bush -

    RB 2006 81 207 2.6 18 0 46 312 6.8 32 0 1 1
Bush gives the Saints a great WR out of the back field but so for he isn't even the Saints best rookie.

3 Tennessee Vince Young - QB
G QBRat Comp Att Pct Yds Y/G Y/A TD Int Rush Yds Y/G Avg td
    7 53.3 69 150 46.0 762 108.9 5.1 5 7 29 137 19.6 4.7 2
The Titians blew the QB situation early so it is on the job trainning for Vince the real results are still out but it has been painfull.

    4 New York D'Brickashaw Ferguson - OT

Jets | Ferguson solid in first season
    Sun, 15 Oct 2006 08:36:26 -0700

Dave Hutchinson, of the Star-Ledger, reports New York Jets OT D'Brickashaw Ferguson has yielded only one sack so far this season.
Ferguson is losing weight over the grind of the season and the Jets are becoming increasingly concerned, according to the Newark Star-Ledger. During the offseason, the club plan...

Ferguson made his presence felt Saturday against Washington, setting up a long touchdown run by pancaking two defenders downfield.

5 Green Bay AJ Hawk - OLB
Hawk's production for Packers proves he legitimate No. 5 pick

6 San Francisco Vernon Davis - TE
Niners rookie TE Davis suffers broken leg - 09/24/2006
    Source: ESPN
San Francisco 49ers rookie tight end Vernon Davis will be sidelined indefinitely after suffering a broken right leg in Sunday's 38-24 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.Vernon Davis (doubtful, leg) missed a portion of practice Wednesday.
Davis will need to get back on the practice field to play Sunday.
Davis has suffered injuries and has not yet made a strong contribution.

7 Oakland Michael Huff - CB
Raiders | Huff questionable for Week 9 Fri, 3 Nov 2006 17:21:17 -0800. Oakland Raiders S Michael Huff (shoulder) is questionable for the Week 9 game. ... Michael Huff took a blow to the head, forcing him to leave Monday's game. ...
    msn.foxsports.com/nfl/team/67050 - 92k - Nov 7, 2006
Raiders S Michael Huff is expected to return to practice Sunday. The rookie hurt his ankle in Oakland's second preseason game and was held out of this ....
This is the man for whom Oakland passed up Matt Leinart.

    8 Buffalo Donte Whitner - S
Donte Whitner, S, Ohio State. Projected by many as the most baffling pick of Round One, Whitner has, perhaps, been Buffalo's best defensive player this year. He was expected to be a reserve behind Matt Bowen for much of the season, but the veteran has been inactive all year thanks to injury. That's been a blessing for the Bills, though, because Whitner's been able to develop even more expeditiously than they'd originally hoped.

The 21-year-old Whitner, who was the league's Defensive Rookie of the Month in September, has racked up 45 tackles, an interception and two passes defensed so far. To think, he's only going to continue getting better. Early verdict: An excellent pick by the Bills, even if it meant not taking quarterback Matt Leinart. Whitner will be a top-notch DB for a long time.

9 Detroit Ernie Sims - OLB
Rookie linebacker Ernie Sims leads the Lions with 44 tackles, while fellow LBs Boss Bailey (23 tackles, 1 sack) and Paris Lenon (22 tackles) are right behind. Sims has started every game this season, and the No. 9 overall pick out of Florida State is making noise in his first year.

10 Arizona Matt Leinart - QB

His OL is real bad and he is a rookie but he has had some key plays

11 Denver Jay Cutler - QB
Denver Broncos coach Mike Shanahan may be changing his mind about sitting rookie quarterback Jay Cutler for the entire season.

28 Jacksonville Marcedes Lewis - TE

30 Indianapolis Joseph Addai - RB
31 Seattle Kelly Jennings - CB
32 New York Mathias Kiwanuka - DE

you guys can call me crazy and i may get blasted for this comment, but i think houston picking Mario Williams has paid off way more than reggie bush in NO. just for now...but we will have to see later down the road and in a couple of years...

i can guarentee that no one will have a rookie year like "lights out" did

Looks like a few other folks took a look at the past draft and have some solid takes.
