I screwed up SF at #17. I really wanted Odrick at 25 for Baltimore and I was looking at the wrong notes. I was trying to watch my daughter's soccer game, kick the ball with my son, look at my draft notes, and follow the thread all at the same time.

I opened the door for the jaw drops by taking Spiller so early.

I also like how I managed to take Suh with St Louis and still have Jimmy Clausen available at 33 had we gone on to round 2.

I do think its a longshot that the Hawks pass on a LT @ 6. You saw how they were all gone @ 14. I think it would be very wise to fill that huge need, and then with the 14 pick go with Pierre Paul, Morgan, Thomas, or even Dez Bryant to give C.W. another target.

Maybe I'm wrong but I really like Forsett, and I think Dwyer or Gerhart could easily be there at 60 as a somewhat decent compliment.

I think my four teams; Buffalo, Miami, Jets and Falcons, had the best picks

Bradford for the browns and Mays for the Eagles

Spikes was a reach but a good reach

I'm with you regarding Spikes, Chris. Yes, it was a rech, but he's a good fit the Giants. They need attitude & leadership on their D much as we do. My concern for his range does grow a bit more when I look at him as a 4-3 vs. 3-4 ILB, but the folks who think that he isn't a baller are mistaken. His value based solely upon measurables may be mid to late second or possibly high 3rd, but the intangibles push him solidly into mid-second range, IMO. He'll be just as good & likely better than Maualuga in the long run because he's a much smarter & more instinctual player.

It was surprising to see Earl Thomas drop to us at 28, but I certainly wasn't disappointed. Looking at the board at that slot, the main question for me was Thomas or Weatherspoon. I went with Thomas because he's an immediate upgrade & starter for us alongside Weddle. I would not be at all unhappy to see the board fall this way.

Weatherspoon could easily play ILB in a 3-4. I think he's best suited to a 4-3 WILL, but he certainly has the skills to translate inside. The issue, for me, is that I like Siler where he is & I seriously doubt that Rivera is gonna demote Cooper.

One other possibility for me at 28 was Kindle, but I'm not as sold on him as some. Has a very good closing burst, but he struggles to get off blocks far too much for me to see him taken at 28.

Man, i think you're on the drugs for reachin for spikes. Middle linebackers have slipped into later rounds in recent years...middle linebackers with better measurables, better intangibles, and less character concerns(i really only know of the one incident). Spikes is molasses slow. I think 3rd round is as high as he SHOULD be taken.

why not just draft linval joseph for every pick? no one will see it comin! then you can pat yourself on the back for a job well done.

After his 5.02 performance, Spikes will probably be a last day pick if he gets picked at all.

Just watch it happen Buck. To think he will still be a first or second round pick is just foolish. Siler fell to the 7th and it wasn't because he had OT speed. Mark it down, Spikes will freefall.

I'm thinking round 3 or 4 is real probable. There was concern leading up to the combine that he wasn't going too attend because he knew he wouldn't run well......that turned out to be true.

Florida is actually doing another Pro Day tomorrow, we'll see if he shows up to redeem himself or just rests on his laurels.

IMO he will go anywhere from the 5th to the 7th if he gets drafted and I doubt AJ will draft a LB that isn't as fast asVaughn Martin

Deep draft so you never know. If Siler were in this draft, he wouldn't of. Obey bet Micah Johnson don't get drafted either. Remember when you kept pimping Rashad Jennings in the 3rd last year?

Yep - I was wrong. But he DID get drafted.

I'm sure that we can all pull out a few guys that we missed on.

And Micah Johnson will also get drafted, although for him it will take until the 5th or later.

Didn't Siler fall partially due to a knee, or am I thinking of Waters?

Well yeah he did and was nearly Mr. Irrelevent. Didn't think he would fall that far. As for Micah, 7th round or undrafted I say. Though not as slow as Spikes, still pretty slow. 4.99 at the combine and I think a 4.9 at his pro day and both had pitiful 29" verts. Spikes is the better player but there isn't a LB on a roster that has 5.0 speed.

    We'll see how it goes.
