Key play: Aaron Glenn intercepts Drew Brees in the end zone with 24 seconds left and the result still in doubt.Final score: 28-24

    CHARGERS AT DENVER, SEPT. 18

Chargers lead: 14-10, inside nine minutes left

What happened: After Kyle Johnson's 3-yard run gives the Broncos a 17-14 lead, Nate Kaeding makes a 42-yard field goal to tie it. However, Denver drives 57 yards on 12 plays and Jason Elam makes a 41-yard field goal with five seconds left to win it.

Key stat: Ron Dayne has 38 yards on six carries on the winning drive.

    Final score: 20-17

    PITTSBURGH AT CHARGERS, OCT. 10

Chargers lead: 22-21, inside one minute left

What happened: After the Chargers score to take the lead in the fourth quarter, the Steelers go 40 yards in 11 plays and win it on Jeff Reed's 40-yard field goal with six seconds left.

Key stat: Jerome Bettis has 21 yards on seven carries on the winning drive.

    Final score: 24-22

    CHARGERS AT PHILADELPHIA, OCT. 23

Chargers lead: 17-13, inside three minutes left

What happened: The Chargers attempt to take a 7-point lead but a 40-yard field goal attempt is blocked and Matt Ware returns it 65 yards for a TD.

Key play: The Chargers are driving with less than two minutes to go, but Reche Caldwell fumbles at the Eagles 19.

    Final score: 20-17

Yeah yeah, we suck in the 4th quarter! I'm having nightmares about that blocked kick!
