Good morning. Congratulations to San Diego Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers and wife Tiffany, who had their seventh child this morning, a girl, according to Kevin Acee of U-T San Diego.

That makes five girls and two boys for the couple. Baby No. 7 for the Rivers' family came well past the Oct. 17 due date. Rivers said this is the first time the couple did not find out the sex of their child beforehand.

Even though the Chargers did not play this week, if the season were to end today they remain in the playoff hunt. At 4-3 overall, the Chargers remain the No. 6 seed in the AFC. San Diego is a half-game ahead of the New York Jets (4-4).

Both Kansas City (8-0) and Denver (7-1) won on Sunday, so the Chargers remain way back in the AFC West division title race.

In this ESPN Insider piece, Mike Sando offers an interesting read on the top five players three unnamed general manage would select in building a roster from scratch. No San Diego players mad the list, but a few of the usual suspects stood out, including Indianapolis quarterback Andrew Luck, Houston defensive end J.J. Watt and Minnesota running back Adrian Peterson.

More Sando: In this ESPN Insider piece looking at NFL teams in the middle of the pack, he notes that the Chargers have the toughest remaining schedule the rest of the way, facing teams with a .667 winning percentage. Part of the reason for that is San Diego has to play Kansas City and Denver twice.

More Acee: He reports that San Diego Padres owner Ron Fowler has thrown his support toward getting a new football stadium built for the Chargers

Oakland Raiders quarterback Terrelle Pryor set a league record for the longest run by a quarterback by rumbling 93 yards for a score in a 21-18 win against Pittsburgh.

I think he is going for 11. That way when he has a family turkey bowl he has his own team.

It ain't a game until you have at least 5 on 5. Time to get back to work Mrs. Rivers.
