Complete 2 round mock. I should have 3rd done by tonight and am tying to complete a round per day leading up to the draft. Round 1 1. Rams team Pick Breakdown... Sam Bradford QB from Oklahoma It's that time. The Ram's have passed on a few QB's that have started out strong. I, personally would not draft Bradford here, I would wait for 2011 and draft either Locker or Mallett but all signs point to the Ram's pullin the trigger on Sammy. 2. Lions team Pick Breakdown... Russell Okung OT from Oklahoma State SURPRISE!! No Suh! The Lions NEED a LT to protect their former 1st round pick and Okung is the man. Bringing in Burleson to pair up with Megatron will be very nice for Stafford, now with Okung he will have some time to actually throw the ball downfield and really help that offense out! 3. Buccaneers team Pick Breakdown... Ndamukong Suh DT from Nebraska The Bucs are in heaven when they see Suh fall to them. Since Sapp left they have been in dire need of a dominant DT and lady's and gents this man will be JUST that! 4. Redskins team Pick Breakdown... Gerald McCoy DT from Oklahoma With Okung off the board the 'Skins are not going to reach for another OT when they can get an impact DT. Haynesworth seems to be on his way out and McCoy will be a great 3-4 DE. 5. Chiefs team Pick Breakdown... Eric Berry SS, FS from Tennessee Eric Berry is the 2nd best defensive player in the draft (behind Suh) and is going to be a wonderful pro in the NFL. Chiefs CANNOT pass on him. 6. Seahawks team Pick Breakdown... Bryan Bulaga OT from Iowa Buluga is a solid OT. Some question if he can play LT in the NFL but I think he can. With the aging (and possibly done) Walter Jones the 'Hawks HAVE to address this, and address it now. 7. Browns team Pick Breakdown... Joe Haden CB from Florida Haden is the best CB in the draft and will be able to step right in and contribute from day 1. 8. Raiders team Pick Breakdown... Trent Williams OT from Oklahoma Trent ran a 4.88 @ the Combine. Some will have Campbell or Mays here, however if Al has anything left in the tank he takes Williams to help anchor down that O line. 9. Bills team Pick Breakdown... Dan Williams DT from Tennessee This may seem like a bit of a reach but the Bills are going to a 3-4 and have no one to play NT. Taking the best NT in the draft will help them anchor down the inside of the D. 10. Jaguars team Pick Breakdown... Derrick Morgan DE from Georgia Tech Morgan is a great pass rusher that could morph into a Dwight Freeney type of player. The Jags MAY trade down here, otherwise Morgan would be a great choice 11. Broncos team Pick Breakdown... Rolando McClain ILB from Alabama The Broncos grab the best ILB in the draft. McClain has some serious upside and could be the great in the NFL. 12. Dolphins team Pick Breakdown... Brandon Graham DE from Michigan This may seem like an extreme reach, however Graham is a Dumbervil replica that could be better against the run. With Mike Nolan running that D he is going to do all he can to land this guy to play opposite of the newly acquired Karlos Dansby. 13. 49ers team Pick Breakdown... Anthony Davis OT from Rutgers Davis is a beast. With some Singletary discipline this guy could really help out that O line. 14. Seahawks team Pick Breakdown... Dez Bryant WR from Oklahoma State After failing to acquire Brandon Marshall, Carroll looks to the next best thing. Bryant has had some character concerns, but has very high upside. He will pair up nicely with TJ. 15. Giants team Pick Breakdown... Sean Weatherspoon OLB from Missouri Pierce is gone and the Giants have a gaping hole inside that D. Weatherspoon is a high intensity play maker that will bolster that D immedietly. 16. Titans team Pick Breakdown... Jason Pierre-Paul DE from South Florida A speedy, athletic freak that could be an absolute beast. At 16, Pierre-Paul isn't as much of a risk as if he was taken in the top 10 and definitely posseses the athletisicm to make it in the NFL. 17. 49ers team Pick Breakdown... Sergio Kindle OLB from Texas The 9'ers need some help with the pass rush and Sergio can certainly do that. 18. Steelers team Pick Breakdown... Earl Thomas SS, FS from Texas The Steelers need some help in the secondary. We saw what happened when Troy went down last year and they cannot afford that to happen again. Beyond that Earl would pair up very nicely with Troy. 19. Falcons team Pick Breakdown... Carlos Dunlap DE from Florida Dunlap will make a good 4-3 DE. The Falcons could use some help with their pass rush and I think Dunlap is very capable. 20. Texans team Pick Breakdown... Kyle Wilson CB from Boise State Wilson will step in and replace Robinson, day 1. In my opinion Wilson could be a pro bowl CB year after year. 21. Bengals team Pick Breakdown... Jermaine Gresham TE from Oklahoma The Bengals need a big target to help Carson out. Gresham is an absolute stud and will help out that offense a lot. 22. Patriots team Pick Breakdown... C.J. Spiller RB from Clemson The Patriots find the biggest home run threat drop down to them at 22. CJ will be a great compliment to Maroney and return kicks as well. 23. Packers team Pick Breakdown... Bruce Campbell OT from Maryland The Packers clearly need some help on that O line. Campbell is a physical specimen. He is a bit of a reach right here but the sky is the limit for this kid. 24. Eagles team Pick Breakdown... Taylor Mays FS from USC The Eagles have been missing something ever since Dawkins left to Denver. Mays is a thumper that will come in and make an immediate impact. He could also see some time at LB 25. Ravens team Pick Breakdown... Jared Odrick DT from Penn State Odrick is a beast. Standing at 6'6'' and weiging in at 305 Jared has fast violent hands. He can help inside or move outside to really help with the pass rush, this guy has Raven written all over him. 26. Cardinals team Pick Breakdown... Terrence Cody DT from Alabama Big Cody is a TRUE 3-4 NT and will help hold down the interior of the Cardinals D. 27. Cowboys team Pick Breakdown... Mike Iupati OG from Idaho Big earth mover that will help further improve the run game. His feet look too slow to play OT in the NFL, but he can move people, and move people in a hurry when run blocking. 28. Chargers team Pick Breakdown... Brian Price DT from UCLA One of the more fast, disruptive DT's off the ball Price will play the 5T in a 3-4 and really help out the OLB's for the Chargers. Playing opposite of Luis Castillo could make a pretty nice combo. 29. Jets team Pick Breakdown... Everson Griffen DE from USC The Jets could use alittle help with the pass rush. Griffen is an athletic freak that will thrive in Rex's D. 30. Vikings team Pick Breakdown... Jahvid Best RB from California Best and Peterson could become the best 1-2 combo in the NFL. Immedietely stepping in for Chester Taylor, Best has home run threat written all over him. He may develop into a 3 down guy, but for now he comes in as a 3rd down back and he can split off into the slot opposite of Percy to create a matchup hell for opposing D's. 31. Colts team Pick Breakdown... Devin McCourty CB from Rutgers The Colts land a good one here. McCourty is a Special Teams demon that can possibly come in and start at CB as well. 32. Saints team Pick Breakdown... Jerry Hughes OLB from TCU The Saints grab a pass rusher here. Hughes is a high motor guy that will help the Saints improve their sack totals in 2010.
Round 2 1. Rams team Pick Breakdown... Golden Tate WR from Notre Dame 2. Lions team Pick Breakdown... Ryan Mathews RB from Fresno State 3. Buccaneers team Pick Breakdown... Demaryius Thomas WR from Georgia Tech 4. Chiefs team Pick Breakdown... Charles Brown OT from USC 5. Eagles team Pick Breakdown... Sean Lee ILB from Penn State 6. Browns team Pick Breakdown... Jimmy Clausen QB from Notre Dame 7. Raiders team Pick Breakdown... Maurkice Pouncey OT from Florida 8. Chargers team Pick Breakdown... Ben Tate RB from Auburn 9. Bills team Pick Breakdown... Colt McCoy QB from Texas 10. Buccaneers team Pick Breakdown... Daryl Washington ILB from TCU 11. Broncos team Pick Breakdown... Arrelious Benn WR from Illinois 12. Patriots team Pick Breakdown... Ricky Sapp OLB from Clemson 13. Broncos team Pick Breakdown... Kareem Jackson CB from Alabama 14. Giants team Pick Breakdown... Patrick Robinson CB from Florida State 15. Patriots team Pick Breakdown... Arthur Jones DT from Syracuse 16. Panthers team Pick Breakdown... Brandon LaFell WR from LSU 17. Browns team Pick Breakdown... Koa Misi DE, OLB from Utah 18. Chiefs team Pick Breakdown... Morgan Burnett SS, FS from Georgia Tech 19. Texans team Pick Breakdown... Lamarr Houston DT from Texas 20. Steelers team Pick Breakdown... Damian Williams WR from USC 21. Patriots team Pick Breakdown... Mardy Gilyard WR from Cincinnati 22. Bengals team Pick Breakdown... Chad Jones SS, FS from LSU 23. Eagles team Pick Breakdown... Dominique Franks CB from Oklahoma 24. Packers team Pick Breakdown... Nate Allen FS from South Florida 25. Ravens team Pick Breakdown... Aaron Hernandez TE from Florida 26. Cardinals team Pick Breakdown... Rob Gronkowski TE from Arizona 27. Cowboys team Pick Breakdown... Reshad Jones FS from Georgia 28. Seahawks team Pick Breakdown... Jonathan Dwyer RB from Georgia Tech 29. Jets team Pick Breakdown... Cam Thomas DT from North Carolina 30. Vikings team Pick Breakdown... Navorro Bowman OLB from Penn State 31. Colts team Pick Breakdown... Jason Worilds DE, OLB from Virginia Tech 32. Saints team Pick Breakdown... Perrish Cox
Cody is gone.. Troup is my 3rd pick and is going to be a manster NT. My Bolt mock goes like this: Brian Price (34 DE) Ben Tate (RB) Torrell Troup (NT) Brandon Spikes (ILB) Kam Chancellor (SS) Marcus Easely OR Byham (WR) (H-Back/TE) E. Cook (C)
o ok that answers all my questions now lol, but wouldnt u rather take jamar chaney than brandon spikes, n the Kam Chancellor pick is genius i love this kid,and just to throw this out there i say pass up on marcus easely and byham and put another running back because sproles probally will be traded
If Sproles is traded, then we will end up with another 2nd probably. So we can get 2 RB's in the 2nd. By the way, Tate is projected as a 2nd/3rd by draftcount down. If that is true, #40 may be a bit early, especially since only 2 will probably be off the board in the 1st (Spiller and Mathews, Best has too many health issues)
i know we will have another 2nd rounder but if we had another second i rather take ben tate first, then id grab tyson alau, or a safety like the safety from georgia tech
I applaud you for the following .... Troup over the impostor Cam Thomas Spikes regardless of what the "experts" say about his speed Chancellor because everyone knows that I love VT  Unfortunately, Chancellor isn't a very good cover safety. Not only are in-the-box safeties becoming extinct ... we already have one.
this is what id do if we got a extra second Brian Price (34 DE) Daryl Washington (ILB) Ben Tate(RB) Torrell Troup (NT) Toby Gehart (RB) Kam Chancellor (SS) Freddie Barnes (WR) E. Cook (C)
So you would go Price (DE) in round 1, Alualu (DE) and Tate in 2, and Troup in the 3rd? That would rebuild our whole DL in one draft. I think going after a SS or ILB rather than a 2nd DE in the 2nd round.
i wouldnt mind rebuilding the line like that, but nah the more i think bout it, if we get a earlier pick than 40 for sproles id want Daryl Washington (ILB),Jerry Hughes(DE/OLB), OR Morgan Burnett i think thats his name safety from GT
My mock draft to this point....(no trades included) 1st. RB Ryan Mathews 2nd. NT Torrell Troup 3rd. DT/DE Geno Atkins 4th. ILB Jamar Chaney 5th. QB Jonathan Crompton 5th. TE Michael Hoomanawanui 7th. RB Keiland Williams 7th. RB Alphonso Smith But I could see us going in different directions with a lot of these picks.
At #40? :icon_huh:.. and i thought you said we would not draft a DE early and were tiring of the "fools" who would consider it? And where are we getting the extra 7th?
ryan matthews will most likely be gone before our 28th pic, new england or houston will snatch him up
New England has 5 RB's on their roster and would benefit more from a Mcluster or Jahvid Best type player than another 220lb back like Maroney, Taylor, and Morris. They also desperatley need to fix their pass rush, the O-line needs work, they need a corner, and to tend to their WR situation with Welker injured and Moss heading out. New England will not draft Ryan Mathews. Houston's #1 CB is Glover Quinn.....need I say more? They play in a division with Peyton Manning, they just lost Dunta Robinson, they already have Steve Slaton and this draft is stocked full of big RB's that could compliment him. When I inquired to Texans fans about the situation, they said it would be completely uncharacteristic of Gary Kubiak. Mathews is a small possibility, but if I were a Texans fan I'd be begging them to take Kyle Wilson, Earl Thomas, or Kareem Jackson. I'm more worried about a team like New Orleans trading up ahead of us. They seem to be pushing out Pierre Thomas.
you forgot maroney is slow and fumbles theyre tired of it,taylor is old and ineffective morris is not that strong of a runner, they will draft a running back and y not matthews? and true houston does have bigger needs i could see them getting earl thomas, but they still are a canidate
Troup played some NT at UCF, and says he's more than capable of playing it at the next level. I've read more than a few articles that call him an classic NT prospect. His playing weight is around 330lbs. Heres a scouting report, I have a couple more from a couple other good sites if your interested. I highlighted some key phrases.
not sure what to make of this mock Brandon Graham played LB at Michigan. Never watched him once play DE. Guess there is no difference in today's game And Jahvid Best to Minny? maybe
damn, so if he puts his hand down it makes him a DE? Shows what I know :icon_eek: He was the best player on a pathetic Michigan defense.
Its pretty simple, Graham is listed on every draft board as a DE or a 3-4 OLB....am I wrong?:icon_shrug:
Not saying Troup isnt a NT, i was refering to you having Atkins in your mock for our 3rd round pick. I do however think that #40 is too high for Troup. Just dont see him going that high even though id agree that because he can play NT he will go higher than he should as will Cam Thomas.
IMO Chaney will not be there for our 4th pick. I am ok w/ Byham instead of Easely, but I do not think we need to draft another RB. We could try to grab a Stafon Johnson UDFA. IF Sproles is traded this mock changes dramatically.
Spikes plays a ton faster than his timed speed. He would be an absolute steal in the 4th Chancellor is the poor mans Mays. Same size, hits like a mack truck but isn't the best in coverage. I still like the guy bc he would put the fear of God in every WR that came across the middle. Unless Ellison starts laying the wood, we NEED a sledge hammer there. I have a big man crush on Troup, I think it's pretty well documented
