Hey, A.G. redesigned the logo, everything else pales next to that.
Seriously though, $$$$--they all get that.

Sure, they have to sell their product..... no question. If the populous turns entirely against Norv and AJ, then they will be left with little choice.

It has gotten to the point where I am considering cancelling my tickets next year if there are not changes at the end of the season. Screw it. I can watch a crap product on TV if I really want too. Pick a game or 2 to attend and call it a day.

Damn this is depressing, lol. I am going to be drinking a little heavier today!

AJ has said many times that, "The window is closing" I would agree with him as his ability to be a GM.
    out of 46 SB
Pitt won 6... that is 1 out of every 7-8 years
Cowboys 3. 1 out of every 15-16 years
    49ers 5.. thats 9-10 years.

The window is only closing because AJ chose to close it.

If Norv is fired and AJ stays AJ has got to be the biggest a**hole as a friend. AJ set Norv up for failure by trading up 3 times and reaching for players and neglect the O-line and D-line. Norv is now on the hot seat and AJ is not sticking up for his friend. If AJ was a true friend to Norv than AJ should voluntarily resign.

Listening to Scott and BR talking to Mike Florio and at the end of the interview Scott talks about a conversation he had with a former Charger Player, that played in the team that lost to the Pats in Marty's last year, that said that if the Chargers hadn't of fired Marty, the players felt that they would have had 2 superbowls by now! He also said that it was widely regarded by Charger players at the time that AJ was the WHOLE problem!!

Well...I could have told them that hehe lol

Sorry i throw the BS flag. It is too damn easy to say, if XYZ woulda happened we would be the greatest. What had Marty ever acomplished to allow us to think that he could maintain the level of offensive and defensive pressure through a game to win anything in the playoffs? With Marty there is a reason we called then play OOOFS!

Mayby they would have, but given a whole new coaching staff, I say imperical evidence points to the opposite.

I agree with this player/team sentiment. As I have stated before, I have friends that played for the Bolts (among other teams) and this was the talk about Marty and Norv. Just as the fans felt sick to their stomach when Norv was hired so did the players.

What makes you think Norv can continue to do the same thing in the REGULAR SEASON?

If the players felt so strongly about things, I think that in itself deserves to be recognised.

Players? You are going off of hear say of one player, not players.

And no matter what you think of him, Norv has a better regular and post season record than Marty with the Chargers, so your argument carries little weight. You better get ready, I say there is probably 60% chance we are saddled with Norv and Aj one more year due to the money Spanos owes them...

I don't think Norv will survive even then...sure they might be on hook for his salary if they fire him, but ifnobody turns uptothe games as a result they will lose a hell of alot more! If it was about money...I still they say they would fire Norv...Maybe not AJ thou.

Plus, there was more than one player that offered similar sentiments about Marty...LT and Gates went on the record straight after he was fired.

I am sure some will. There will also be players who support him like now, so I hardly see how that amounts to a hill of beans.

Marty took a turd and polished it into a gemstone (14-2).... Norv took a gemstone and polished it into a turd. A big difference in my opinion.

Would Marty have won 2 superbowls? We'll never know... but we sure know that Norv didn't win any. The stat that Norv's record is better than Marty's is true... but it doesn't make me want to keep Norv as the coach. Norv's a nice guy but what did Leo Durocher say... "Nice guys finish last" ? It's always been true in Norv's case.

I have disliked aj smith since the sammy davis fiasco over troy p. then there was terence kiel, jacob hester, a $40 million safety that still gets trucked by the same players, english, buster davis... etc. cromartie is a pick thats starting for the jets still, he needs to pick off 20 more passes for a 40 mill deal though. the good chargers today are the remnants from the LT rivers/breees and co.

There are more coaches in the world than Norv and Marty, thus the Norv vs Marty thing can soon be left to "who was a better coach for the Chargers?" types of historical (and useless) conversations. (I'm still going with Gillman ;))

Close 2nd. Unlike Gillman, he had to deal with multi-game playoffs.

Yeah, & he's a Richmond guy. Coached at a Richmond metro area high school & Benedictine, which is in Richmond.

He's one of the reasons I became a full-fledged Chargers' fan.
