            Except that Smith didn't send either of them to the Saints. Both were free agents who chose to go there. Brees because only one other team even offered him a contract, and then they pulled out. Let's not pretend that it was the current Drew Brees. Otherwise the 29 other teams who didn't even offer Brees a contract might have joined in. Sproles scored TWO touchdowns for the Chargers last year.

                    My take on ******* Smith is he planted the story with Kevin Acees help that Gruden would want to coach for AJ in STL.
                    He is attempting to leverage his position, Dean better grow some balls and fire him now. What he really needs is to be taken by the scruff of his neck and thrown out in the parking lot of Chargers HQ. POS.

                        I agree with all of you that think AJ needs to go. When your GM squanders talent like Jackson, McNiell, Sproles, Turner, Brees, Robinson (I'm sure I'm missing several) and has not brought in the talent necessary to compensate for them then it should be time to let it go. Come on Dean, you need a personality that will get the media talking about the Chargers and get the fan base excited about the team's furture not a recluse that refuses to talk to the players or the media. Fans want to hear about their team and the star players on it. That is not going to happen with AJ. Yes he does manage the bottom line so the Chargers can keep you and your brothers living high off of the Charger payroll but you can actually have it both ways. The more the Chargers are in the public eye the more money your family will make. Dump this guy for someone with a personality.
