Obviously winning the rest of our games works.

Next game is a virtual necessity. If we lose that we would need both the Ravens and Colts to lose once more.

If we win next week, we can get by with winning one out of two of the last games, as long as the Colts don't lose another. (We end up tied with Ravens and Colts with the same record).

If we lose one of the last two and the Colts lose another, but the Ravens win out, the Ravens get the #1 seed

If we all end up tied, we get in as #1 (as long as the next loss we get to end up tied is from our last two games).

Only if we were to win the second round playoff game.

but to answer your question right now, yes, we own the rights to host that game (if we are still in it)

Bolts have to be +1 in the win column vs the Ravens since they get the head-to-head tie breaker.

Bolt currently hold the Tie breaker with the colts due to our 9-2 vs 7-2 in the AFC. Strength of Schedule would be next if the bolts and colts end up with the same AFC record and I think the Colts are winning that tie breaker at the moment.

well, heres what the teams are looking at right now...

    RAVENS - CLE..@PIT..BUF

    COLTS - CIN..@HOU..MIA

    BOLTS - KC..@SEA..ARZ

    pretty even around the board...

baltimore should not have a problem with pittsburgh for sure...but cleveland and buffalo can prove to be problematic.

indy can and will lose to cincy right now..they need to be extra careful in houston, and miami is on a roll too. Colts have the toughest three game schedule out of these guys...They need to learn to stop the run. i can see indy at 1-2 for these games.

Bolts better win out, that would put us at an 11 game win streak and we can momentum steamroll right though to the big game. Seattle is the only game that a loss could happen. Arizona is a trap game, we cannot let our guards down.

    all in all...

    ravens - 2-1
    colts - 1-2
    bolts 3-0

first round bye...home field advantage...best record in the AFC and NFL. ....LT 4 MVP...

Head to head doesn't matter if three teams are tied unless 1 of the three teams has beaten the other two or two of the teams has beaten the other. Since neither of these could happen if we end up tied with the Colts AND Ravens, we go to conference record, and then to common games.

Also the next tie-breaker is common opponents (they are 4-1 we are 5-0)

    Three or More Clubs
(Note: If two clubs remain tied after third or other clubs are eliminated, tie breaker reverts to step 1 of applicable two-club format.)
    1. Apply division tie breaker to eliminate all but the highest ranked club in each division prior to proceeding to step 2. The original seeding within a division upon application of the division tie breaker remains the same for all subsequent applications of the procedure that are necessary to identify the three Wild-Card participants.
    2. Head-to-head sweep. (Applicable only if one club has defeated each of the others or if one club has lost to each of the others.)
    3. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.
    4. Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games, minimum of four.

    Correct.

The Wild Card Tie Breaker formula is used and sometimes this is missed.

We can drop a game but then we need help to keep the Number one seed. I think you did the permutations in another thread that was spot on.

The only help we would need if we only dropped either of the NFC games would be for Indy to NOT lose again (I know it sounds weird, but trust me) :D.

I read over the ALL 3 are tied part. Missed that.

I was thinking from the tied with 1 or the other, but not both.

The reason you gave is the exact reason we need the Colts to keep winning now.

Sorry, I find this analytical stuff very fun and interesting to think through. Very similar to math. NERD ALERT!!!

    I agree 100%.
I enjoy crunching the numbers as well.

This may sound odd, but I want the chargers to be pushed into the last week. I don't want a clinch early and Marty has all the stars take the last game off and they get rusty sitting on the shelf for 3 weeks with a bye.

I like Belichick's philosophy for for the end of the season. You play period. You FINISH the season, you don't coast to the line.

Absolutely, we NEED this game unless we want to have a LOT of help from other teams for the #1 seed.

there should not be any bench sitting during the Arizona game. we need to keep them in the trenches and working for thier paycheck. if you let them sit, they get weak. the only player i wouldnt mind riding the bench would be LT, but he can get prolly 4 TD's against the red birds..

congrats bolts fans. yo im guessin we will play our starters at least thru seattle. if the colts and ravens stay a game back, then i really dont know if we would/should play all our starters against arizona. the only real downside to this is that ppl who are going to the arizona game (like me) might not get to see some legends play. alls we need to do is play our starters for 3 more games to get home field. peaz n gl.
