Steelers fans grew very impacient with Cowher but the wait paid off.

Again... I would have been fine with ditching Marty for someone who is capable of getting us to the Super Bowl and winning it. We didn't!!!

Oh, and about Norv finishing with the #1 seed then getting knocked right out... you have to make it to the playoffs before you have that discussion!!! :hilarious: :hilarious:

In 9 season as HC before the Chargers... he's been there once!! :hilarious: :hilarious: :hilarious:

    You are too much!!!

    Norv is 4-3

    Marty is 5 -13

So whats better having the #1 Seed and continually going out in the first round, or going 8-8 and making it to the Championship game?

So was Norv hired because of his post season record?
    1-1... hmmmmmm

Also, I'm not buying this theory that no other coach could have taken us as far or further than Norv.

And what was Marty's record when he came here!

Marty is a POS! Get over it, he is gone and he is not coming back!

Start attacking the Spanos' they are the ones who call the shots. How do you know that the Spanos' do not want a winning team here in San Diego and they are doing everything they can to stay here for as long as they can. Every year the amount they have to pay for the Stadium expansion drops, and every year they prolong moving is more money in their pockets!!!

And they could careless whether you remain a season ticket holder or not

    BWHHHHHHH!!!!!! :hilarious: :hilarious: :hilarious:

OMG... Now you're comparing Norv to Bill Cowher :hilarious: :hilarious:

    Bill Cowher
    149-90-1 Regular Season
    12-9 Post Season
    2 Super Bowl Appearances
    1 Super Bowl Title
    Was handed a 7-9 team

    Norv Turner
    79-97-1 Regular Season
    4-3 Post Season
    Was handed a 14-2 team

    Before Chargers
    58-81 Regular Season
    1-1 Post Season

WOW... We got some wacky comparisons in here!!! :hilarious: :hilarious:

He would be over there pulling the same crap as he is doing here. After every loss he would create yet another version of why Tomlin is not the answer. Over there they wouldnt put up with his crap!

    No S*it!
Unless we win the Super Bowl this season... Norv is a step backwards. Slow starts are not good either and will eventually come back to bite you.

Again... had we ditched Marty for somebody capable of getting us to the Super Bowl and winning it, I would have been good with it. We didn't do that. Care to deny?

    I know what compare means.

    Now let's review...
I said "Steelers fans grew very impacient with Cowher but the wait paid off."
You said "Too bad you cant learn from their lesson."

First off, Cowher was handed a 7-9 team as opposed to a 14-2 team.
The Steelers were hardly a Playoff contender, much rather a Super Bowl bound team. They had LOTS of rebuilding to do!
His first season (in his career as HC as well as with the Steelers), he got them to 11-5 and in the playoffs. Then he followed it up with 3 more playoff seasons and getting them to the Super Bowl in his fourth season.

The ONLY area we needed improvement was receiving and Norv got it! So we became better in 2007 (talent wise).

    INVALID COMPARISON!

But hey... some posters were comparing him to Bellichick the day he was signed.

No **** we didn't have Chambers and Naanee, don't get why that even matters.

And again Jackson's rookie season was in 2005 not 2006, I said that in my post. Parker was a decent #2 guy.

And who cares what Marty inherited, you act like he made the team great, he didn't.

Did Marty make Brees become a good QB? No
Did Marty make LT into a great RB? No
Did Marty make Gates into a great TE? No
Did Marty convert our defense from crap to good? No
Who wanted Seau and Harrison gone? Marty
Who wanted Sammy Davis over Troy? Marty

You ***** about AJ bringing in Ted Cottrell, but who was the one who hired that joke of a DC Dale Lindsay? Marty.

AJ was the one that recommended Wade, and it was Wade who made our defense good, not Marty.

Marty is a choker, he's choked with every team he's had. 14-2 and he goes 1 and out. How ****ing awful is that? I bet you'd be *****ing non-stop if that was Norv who went 14-2 and then 1 and out, but not your beloved Marty. Champion during the regular season, a loser in the playoffs.

Norv isn't the only coach that could, but we sure as hell know your beloved Marty couldn't.

Oh and the Raiders were better with Norv there than after he left, that's how pathetic the Raiders are.

12-41 (.226 win %) vs 9-23 (.281 win %). Oh and the last time the Raiders offense was in the top 20? Guess.

    When Norv was there.

And another thing Norv didn't inherit the SB losing Raiders. He didn't have a healthy Gannon, didn't have Tim Brown, and the defense stunk.

Oh and Washington wasn't SB quality, not even close. they were 4-12 the year before he got there, had a different leading QB, RB and WR, and the defense was no where near as good as the ones Gibbs had.

Oh and Norv left the Redskins with an 8-8 team, Marty the year after went 8-8. Although Norv got fired when the team was 7-6, his final 2 seasons with the Redskins were 17-12.

And again the team was worse after Norv left, it took 5 seasons until they were able to have a winner again.

    LOL. What a wacky post!!!

So Marty had nothing to do with the Chargers becoming a competitive team? If that's the case, then Norv should get NO credit for post season wins.

Oh... and who did make all these players great?
You know who Brees's QB coach was, right? I suppose Brian is terrible?
Releasing Seau and Harrison was best for both parties cause they were just growing old here.
Sammy over Troy... talk to AJ! That's the GM's job!

Yes, Marty hired Lindsay and ditched him when it didn't work out. So what?
About AJ brining in Cottrell... the HC is suppose to pick his assistants.

Wade made our defense good because that's what a DC does. I don't know about AJ recommending him but Marty, Wade, and Cameron worked great together.

And what has Norv accomplished that made him worthy to coach a Super Bowl caliber team? This ought to be good!!!!

Is that what your crystal ball says?
None of us know what Marty would have done or if he'd still be here. But firing him in mid April was retarded!!! Care to deny?

Also, you need thicker reading glasses. I said that Washington was NOT Super Bowl bound. Though they developed to be a playoff team. Especially in his last year. Sure they were old timers but Oakland had a bunch of old timers, yet they went to the AFC Championship one season and the Super Bowl the next season. What's their excuse?

BOTTOM LINE... we ALL know that your beloved Norv is not a Head Coach!!!

We're 2-2 so far this year with a big game coming up. With the way we looked so far, maybe we should be 0-4. Either way, it's way to early to be making any changes in the staffing.

If we get eliminated early with no chance to make the playoffs then a move could be made. Somehow I don't think that's going to happen. A win Monday night could dramatically help this team out. A loss may sink the ship and I for one, wouldn't want to be around for the meltdown in here.

man you even lie it out one under the other and still get it wrong. You are the king of fail.

"Steelers fans grew very impacient with Cowher but the wait paid off."
"Too bad you cant learn from their lesson."

The statement has nothing to do with Cowher and everything to do with your knee jerk, stupidity posting. Now why don't you put some actual effort into reading and comprehending the posts?

If we play anything like we've seen in the past would should win. I'm not going to pretend that I know what is wrong with this team, nor am I going to just point my finger. Not being on the inside leaves way to many holes for the "fan" to know what is really happening.[/QUOTE]

I read it and you ARE comparing what Cowher did in Pittsburgh to what Norv did here. No point denying it. It's plain for ALL to see!

But hey, if you need some company... CasualKnowledge compared Norv to Belichick, Coughlin, and Dungy. So maybe that will take some edge off of your embarrassment.

Ok so AJ is hurting this franchise, now what are you going to do?

Stop going to games, you'll be playing into thier hand. They want attendance to drop. That way they can move.

Or you shut up and root for the Team that is out there
