WHo else will sign my petition to AJ smith. This is a petition to talk to and scout heavily Legarrete Blount. I think the chargers should invite him to a game and then draft him in like the 3rd round!!

Look at this amazing TD. He is the best option for future back in SD

Here he is after his suspension. This guy is soooo fast for a 246 pounder!!!!!! He has some of the best game instincts I have seen recently in a running back!

He would be an easy first rounder if it weren't for the Blount Punch!!

I'll sign. He's a beast. And its not like this is an isolated incident, his entire 08' season was a highlight reel as he averaged almost 7ypc which is a amazing for such a big guy.

Watch him break 3 tackles at the LOS before leaving everyone in his dust, and remember 6'1 245lbs...

He is easily the best RB in this class IMO. Spiller is a good scat back but BLOUNT is crazy!!! Not only does he run through the tackles well, he jets through. You don't even wanna try and tackle him cuz he'll put the hurt on you!! He's got the size of like brandon jacobs mixed with the speed and agility of a much smaller back! Its like the guy has one of those fun house mirrors htat makes him look skinny so he doesn't realize or run like he could be a d lineman in college!

If he can't catch out of the backfield, they won't consider him IMO. Whoever they draft would have to replace LT, and Sproles, or just LT. Either way he has to be a threat catching it out of the backfield for the Chargers style offense.

I'd be shocked if he can't considering Oregon's spread offense. They love to split RB's out wide and run a lot of tricky screens.

I agree with nomorenorv, Blount is an animal, and nearly impossible to tackle 1 on 1 wether he's running around or over the defender. He reminds me of a younger Larry Johnson.

No way man. Gehrheart is ok but come on man.

Blount is a TD machine. He would be a great compliment to our current TD machine LT!!!

    LT and LB!!!!

BLount could be the next great NFL touchdown machine. This guy is a great goalline runner. He is one of the more elusive backs in college yet he ways almost 250lbs!!!

Gerheart is good but if blount wasn't suspended he would have been in the highlight race.

    Compare

    LT

    and

    LB!!!

Gerhart is a straitforward runner, more like an Alstott.
Blount is the same size and equally as powerfull, but more nimble, more agile, FASTER, and if not for the incident in September he'd have been a 1st round lock and a heisman candidate. I've had my eye on him since the day Michael Turner signed with Atlanta.

If he can behave himself, does well @ the combine, and interviews well, sure. If not, Gerhart.

Yeh plus he looks indesctructable. Some of those td runs were with a hip pointer and other injuries!!! Gehrhardt can't compete. We already have hester and tolbert. We don't need him... Blount will be an NFL superstar if he can "keep his hands to himself"

I have Blount as my pick for a RB in the next draft. I had McCoy this year and now he's killing it for the Eagles. So yeah, signed, AJ Smith - draft LaGarrette Blount in the 2010 NFL Draft. Singed on December 17th 2009.

I don't know if he'd fit in San Diego, but he does have a lot of punch to him.

Didn't we waste a draft pick on a RB last year? :icon_shrug:
I think that the 2011 draft will have a better selection of RB's.
I like a couple guys out of Miami named Greg Cooper and Damien Berry.

This guy Jonathan Dwyer is not bad either.

This year's draft class is very thin at RB which means these guys are going to be drafted ahead of their 'value.' I'd be willing to reach or trade picks if this kid was a class act in addition to a talent. But I absolutely do NOT want us to overpay for a guy with baggage.

That may be true, but none of the backs we have now is a lock to come back next year. Sproles is on a 1yr deal and he's too small to carry the load anyway, Bennett is 33yrs old and non-existant in our offense, and Tomlinson is making 6-8 mil and not even going to break 1000yds this year.

RB is a must in this draft, or at least in the free agency scrap heap.

I wouldn't mind taking a risk on him, but I wouldn't reach for him. If he falls to the late 3rd round maybe, but definitely not with our top 2 picks. I'd be more comfortable picking him with a 4th or lower pick though.

that's the point. He will fill. since Legarrette had the punch incident he will fall way lower. THat way we don't have to pay himj much but still get a quality back!

I'd be surprised if every general manager in the league isn't thinking the same thing you are. All you have to do is watch a 5 minute clip and you can see the talent. Its gonna come down to which GM has the cajones to spend the earliest pick on him. Personally I wouldn't mind burning a 2nd or 3rd rounder on him, he fits our needs to a 'T'.

If I knew we'd get him my mock draft would change to something like....
    1. T.Cody or D. Williams. Nosetackles.
    2. Tony Washington (pass-blocking RT)
    3. LeGarrette Blount
    4. Auston English (pass-rushing 3-4 OLB)
    5. Bryan Anderson (WR, 6'4 210lb)
    (comp) Micah Johnson (ILB)
    6. Jeffery Owens (nasty run-stopping 3-4 DE)
    7. Myron Rolle (SS)
