I can't believe AJ gave the house to move up to #12 pick on the first round, when Ryan Matthew was projected by everyone to go late first round. AJ is looking more like Bobby Beathert as the years go by, next thing you know AJ will give first and second rounds to go up to the second round and select players out of small schools that nobody looking to pick. He should have kept the pick or even traded down and picked me, Legarrette Blount! Much better value!:icon_toast:
Rick Gosselin, in his final mock, had Matthews going to the Seahags at pick #14... Having said that, I love the player but not the price.
Look...I wasn't happy about what we traded....but let's be honest....Bobby Beathard would have traded this years first for a 2nd....Next year's first and a second this year to move up in the 2nd....and would have drafted a WR from a small school who would amount to nothing more than a decent special teams player at best.
Does anyone know how to determine the VALUE of a pick? We moved up to the 12th, gave up a 2nd, swaped 4th and gained a 6th. Just the value increas of moving up to 12 makes this a very good trade for us. Come on guys, get over your draft fits and get on board.
If AJ was turning into Beathard he would have gave up that much for a 2nd rounder and nothing more. I don't like that we gave up so much for it but let's not be stupid here.
Oh the irony of a post from someone that promoted LaGarrett Blount (and I'll admit so did I), now hated by his own team and fans after several unsettling incidents, whining about what it took to secure Ryan Mathews, now watching his stock rise faster than anyone's ever witnessed.
When you can't even spend the time to get the correct spelling of the a guy named in your thread title, do you really expect me to think that you have a clue about the topic? :icon_shrug:
