Now I know he was trying to price himself out of that particular market but damn, to know that the Yanks were still willing to give him $250 million is uinbelievable. No way in hell is A-Rod that valuable. Not even close. Hell I wouldn't want that dude on the Padres.

The Yankees are the Team that started all this crap, now they should sign him.

The Texas Rangers bear some guilt here as well.

But did the Rangers sign Arod to remain competitive with the Yankees, and their thinking was that with the way salaries were climbing. Arod would have been a bargain in the later years of the contract. And the salaries were climbing because of the way the Yankees were throwing money around.

Them and Boras. Boras had the idiot Rangers bidding against themselves for that crazy contract.

And Boras better put down the crack pipe if he thinks someone is going to drop 350 Mil on a guy with this recent post season BAs:

    2005 .133
    2006 .071
    2007 .267

I could see someone offered a 8 year $250 million contract but I just don't see anyway anyone will offer $350 million, I'm guessing that would of been a 10 year deal, but why would anyone want to pay him $35 million when he's in his late 30's and early 40's.

8 year deal will last until he's 40, and $250 million would be a little over $31 million a season.

That and some sort of revenue sharing!

Yes, they do share the Television Contract, but when the Yankees get so much form the Madison Square Garden network for the right to televise games plus the radio side of the house.

Ya know what, 2 Teams are playing that game, and if the Yankees are making all that $$$$, I would have in my Television contract, that I have EXCLUSIVE rights, and if the Yankees want to send a signal home while they are on the Road, they are going to have to pay. And if every team did that, then either the Yankees are going to have to pay, or not broadcast those away games.

There are more members in baseball who can’t afford it, then there is who can. So let’s put it to a vote.

I agree, MLB should redo the television contracts. Although I'm not sure how it'd effect which channel the local team would play on, but it would get rid of Cable only, like Cox and TW has for the Padres.

It is sad, whats even worse, there was only about 10 Teams that could afford him, before the $350,000,000.00 Bomb was dropped.

I hope he never plays again, his post season record sucks!
