Lets make a Charger mock draft, Some one start me round off with the 2nd round pick, and lets just keep going. I'm going to start with the 1st round.

1(18). San Diego Chargers select... "insert draft music" Nick Perry OLB, USC. The Chargers get a much needed pass rush that will boost the defense.

4th round the San Diego Chargers select......................................Jonathon Massaquoi
I know they took Perry in the first round but come next year Jarrett Johnson could be our only OlB on the roster with Philips,Barnes being FA's,. I'm also banking on English or Laboy not making it past pre season maybe even both. why not have 2 young prospects waiting and learning

    1 Nick Perry
    2 Harrison Smith
    3 Brandon Moseley
    4 Jonathan Massaquoi

    team needs still DE,RB,CB

I like green yet with having 5 tight ends on the roster already I don't see them going out and getting one in the draft. I believe Rosario will be the 3rd TE on the roster.

And if we do draft Perry in the 1st I doubt we take Massaquoi.

I'd rather have Perry and Massaquoi then English and Laboy

Laboy was on the field because English was hurt/useless last season. If we drafted Perry, we'd have Perry, Philips, Barnes, Johnson, Williams, and English. There's virtually no way that it would get down to English and LaBoy, and therefore no reason to draft Massaquoi if we took Perry.

Williams is an ILB and when English gets hurt again this year it will be "Perry", Philips, Barnes, and Johnson and what if Philips misses another good chunk of the season?

and next year Barnes will be a free agent, Phillips will be a free agent, I'd imagine we would bring in one of the 2 not both

Philips over Barnes, we could probably get him cheaper

You're right, I meant Gamble, not Williams. However, I'm curious as to how many LBers you expect the team to keep on the roster? Right now, we currently have Spikes, Butler, Mouton, Gachkar, and Williams for 2 ILBer positions, and Philips, Barnes, Gamble, English, LaBoy, and Johnson for 2 OLB positions. We're anticipating adding 1 guy in the first, and you want to add a second guy to that? Maybe we should just draft OLBers in every round this year, and go into the season with 20 LBers on the roster, and have them block for Rivers when one of our O-Linemen needs a breather...

Buddy, I said in my original post I don't think Laboy or English will make the roster, before the last pre season game one or both may be gone. So I was thinking OLB's Philips, Johnson, Barnes, Draft pick, Draft pick. = 5 Ilb's Spikes, Butler, Mouton, Williams = 4 Total = 9

pass rush is top of our list of greatest needs

OLB, O line, RB, CB, D line and 8 picks to work with maybe more maybe less but lets just say 8 for now.
    why not grab
    2 OLB,
    1 CB
    1 RB
    2 D line
    2 O line

this is a mock draft no one is saying this is whats going to happen maybe we dont take a pass rush in the first what is we grab a Guard, Cornerback, WR, TE, Kicker no one knows

who Gamble and Gachkar? 2 special teams players? they may not be brought back either if any of these draft picks or Bigby, or anyone else beats them out.

D-Will and Bigby are solid special team players so there you go. spot filled

ok since everyone hates Massaquoi with the 4th pick the Chargers select CB Omar Bolden

    1. Nick Perry
    2.Harrison Smith
    3.Brandon Moseley
    4.Omar Bolden
    5. Charlie Sheen and then trade back into the 5th for Ronnie Hillman

Yeah, and so are Jammer and Cason.

We did sign Jarrett Johnson for 4yrs, he's not a great pass rusher, but he will play A LOT. And unless Perry comes in and blows everyone away a la Merriman '05 I'd almost guarantee we keep Barnes and/or Phillips around. Massaquoi isn't so great a prospect that we should log jam a position for him.

I vote Robert Turbin in the 4th, or wait till the 6th for Michael Smith. And i would've said Brandon Washington in the 3rd.

But with the 6th rounder, the Chargers take Akeim Hicks NT/DE, Regina/LSU

    3. OT Moseley, Brandon
    4. CB Bolden, Omar
    5. ACT Sheen, Charlie
    6. NT Hicks, Akiem
    7. CB Pellerin, Micah

    I'd love to see:
    1. Mark Barron, Michael Floyd or Michael Brockers
    2. Harrison Smith (unlikely), Shea McClellin, Josh Robinson or Kevin Zeitler
    3. Alameda Ta'amu (i'd probably think about him in 2nd also), LaMichael James or Jared Crick
    4. Ladarius Green or Tommy Streeter
    5. Vontaze Burfict

Basically, I just wants to see us look for value selections, and focus primarily on D. I feel like we need some inside beef and a pass rusher, but also a SS. They should probably be the first 3 rounds picks unless we find people falling that present a good value selection.

You'll have to forgive me if my projections are a bit off, I'm not a huge expert on college ball, but like learning and watching the whole thing, it's an exciting process and good to learn more about.

I love Mock drafts seeing which players I predicted join the team. So far in the past 2 drafts I got Ryan Mathews (didn't predict the trade but I knew we'd have to trade up) also got the Marcus Gilchrist one last year (again I had him in the 3rd but it is what it is) I have to say last year I saw one guy project Liuget to the Chargers I have to say kudos to that man

Liuget was a phenomenal and dominant college player, I just don't know anyone other than AJ Smith who thinks he's a good fit for 3-4DE. The pessimist in me knows he's gonna be one of those guys who finds a new team in FA in few years, and become one of the best late riser premier DTs in the league.

I agree, I was on the Cam Jordan bandwagon and seeing him available at 18 and not hearing his named called was worse than any heart break I had in the past hahaha. It didn't help the fact that I was at work watching it so the rest of the night I was pissed. Not taking anything away from CL I like the kid, but if he finds a good 4-3 team he'll be a solid DT for years

Wasn't he a Manusky pick? I know he wasn't in the room but I think I read something about Manusky being high on him. Maybe we can use him for trade Bait????
