Did anyone catch on the pregame coverage Jason La Canfora saying that if Andy Reid got fired he might end up in SD. Said Reid has a home here and is from San Diego. Weird.
You can't wear a jumpsuit in San Diego. For that reason alone, he should not be hired. Here's the article: http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/blog/j...chargers-mike-holmgren-interested-in-cowboys-
Andy Reid I feel would be doubtful....he is gm and hc in Philly if I'm not mistaken...I don't know if that will fly in Sd...but you never know...that'd be a way to skimp just like having an hc that's an oc like he does with turner....
Reid has a pretty decent track record of success in Philadelphia with some very good teams to his credit. For those who are so quick to dismiss him, I'd only note that Gruden has a ring and that's it over Reid. Cowher likely isn't getting into football any more & for all the talk of Chip Kelly, the rule is college coaches don't do great coming to the NFL. I'm not saying he's not my top choice but he doesn't deserve to be rejected so quickly
I think that there are a lot of things that make college coaches poor in the transition: A) Coach-Player relationship: Literally a change from Dictator-Peasant, to Boss-Independent Contractor B) Player advantage: Most very successful college coaches are successful because they're able to acquire talent superior to their opponents, sometimes on one side of the ball, sometimes across the board. In the NFL, it's unusual for a team's B squad to be better than the starters of their opponents. C) Quality of Players: Because everyone in the NFL is a better player than any college player (virtually), offensive schemes must be more complex, as the holes in the defense become significantly smaller, as do the rushing lanes. I think that the Dictator/Super-Elite Program types are the ones who can't make it. I think that the guys who have a shot are the innovators, and the coaches who haven't simply perfected the learning of someone else's system, but rather the guys who develop and adjust a philosophy to the players they have.
