You would be surprised at how great the Mexican food is around here. I would guess we have a 30% Hispanic population. Anyway...

Whodathunk....7 pages & 66 posts in less than 6 hours on this topic...I would have never thought that possible.

I was leery about posting it initially. It's one of those topics that isn't so openly received more often than not.

The British kid posted a a thread last year about taking our guns away, and he was roundly thrashed for his efforts.

We Americans, by and large, wanna keep our guns, for whatever reasons. And they'll take them from us when they pry them from our cold, dead hands.

I will have to remember that for my wife. She wants to get her concealed carry license too. I was hoping she would want a Desert Eagle .44mag.

I like the NRA. I don't agree with them on everything but as a whole they have done a pretty good job. IMO

I parted ways with them and their ilk in the 80's when they contested the ban on the KTW round. It's teflon coated, and its sole purpose is to defeat body armor, At the time, the only people wearing body armor were LEOs.

We called it the cop killer round.

I remember that and that was one of the times I disagreed with the NRA.

Plus you can go to any gunshow, at least in Texas, and see them offer an annual membership for xyz$$ (35 comes to mind) to any non-member, even the gang-bangers, who got to these things hoping to exercise their 2nd amendment rights.

Like I said, I can do without them.

    :tup::yes:

That IS a sweet shooter. So's my snub-nosed .38 that I got from my brother-in-law.........fits right in my purse.

Not that I actually carry it in my purse, of course, but I do have a concealed-carry permit and the gun lives in my car's glove box most of the time. We keep a Glock in the house; I prefer to keep my gun in the car because I occasionally have to drive long distances for my job; I've always felt safer alone on the road when I have my cell phone, credit card, and gun with me.

Are you referring to the ammunition sold under the term 'Black Talon' by Winchester?

Come on, let's be practical. You want her to be able to defend herself or to be able to take down a bear?

I like snub nosed handguns but my wife keeps a lot of crap in her purse; gummy bears, wet wipes, etc. The last thing she needs is to pull out a revolver and have to clear the cylinder before she can fire the thing. That's why she opted for the auto.:icon_toast:

I don't know of any other name this particular round other than KTW, nor do I care who made it.

Does anyone know what the standard round is for a .40 S&W? I want to buy in bulk and what I see on the web sites for bulk is 165gr and 180gr. I don't know anything on ballistics so I am trying to get an opinion as to which would be the best all around gr.

Again, no help as I stick with a Hydroshock .45 caliber round, or mebbe a Glazer round. And I go with semi-wadcutters for target practice.

    JMHO :)

I've made SST rounds for a client who did a lot of travel to Israel. But I would only ship them to an Israeli address, no domestic ship. They could penetrate most lower to mid level body armors since they acted as a drill rather than flattening out on impact.
