Someone sent a message that they are a rookie. In truth, I am a rookie as well. NOT to baseball, but to Fantasy play.

So, besides drafting players, what else do we do? I want to make sure I keep up whatever the heck I am supposed to do.

Champ wants active players. The only way to stay truly active is to know the rules and what to do and when to do it. Daily, weekly-whatever.

well the playing is the easy part...
you make a team roster and cross your fingers...

for example...it doesnt help to have a pitcher on your roster for the day that isnt pitching.
if Jake Peavy is on your team and hes pitching that day, he needs to be on your active roster and so on.

if hes not, than its wasted...

you need to watch for catchers that wont be playing, or hurt short stops that need to be replaced by your utility guy....

you have to be updated on your players every day, all year long

I drafted in another league last night and Barroids went undrafted.

I know that I have to pick at least 25 players (not same position) and rank them.... I just don't know where to go to do this..

you go onto draft central then click pre-draft rankings and then if you can't draft your team live then it does it for you based on those rankings

So, is this a Rotissserie League(stats), Fantasy Points League or is this a Head-to-Head League(win/loss record)?:icon_huh:

I'm guessing Head-to-Head.

It makes a difference in who I want to draft.

I know that the better my players perform, the more points they earn for my team overall.

So far, I've drafted 22 players. I want to add more but would like this question answered first.

Carrie I usually just go by the Yahoo rankings. I couldn't make the draft in UK's league and yahoo picked a better team than I probably would have. :lol:

On the league page it should show you where to pre-rank your players. If you can't find it let me know.

Thanks BDH... I found my way around the site and did just that about an hour ago.... used the Yahoo rankings for my Pre Draft Rankings.... I'm going to have Yahoo pick my teams as well.

I won't be able to make the draft. I have to be @ work tommorrow night @ 10pm, so I'll be getting ready for work/going to work during the draft. As long as the yahoo pre draft ranking works ok, Im sure it will be fine.

Do a pre draft rank and then you can do autodraft like most of us....:icon_toast:

Yes, thanks for your help...Now keeping the fingers crossed for a low draft pick number...

I'm told this is an every day commitment. You have to line your team up daily, be sure your guys are actually playing/pitching, not injured, etc...

Trades are going to be interesting for this dummy... Think I need to buy the book Fantasy Baseball for Dummies (if there is one) :icon_mrgreen:
