I've played fantasy baseball several times, but I've always played head to head, not rotiserie, or what ever style this is. I'm learning too. Head to head just seems so much easier for the new people to understand, but I'm sure after a few weeks we'll all have this figured out. If I can help though, I will.

Well, my understanding is that if you rank #1 in a category (HR's, for example) at any given time you get 14 points for that. (That's in our league, because there's 14 teams.) If you rank 4th in that category, you get 11 points, and if you rank last you get 1.

There are 12(?) categories. If you rank #1 in all 12 you would have 168 points (14 x 12.) Of course, that would be pretty much impossible. If you ranked 7th in every category you would have 84 points (7 x 12.)

So...if at the end of a given day your ranking in the 12 categories is (for example):

      #1. 2nd (13 points)
      #2. 5th (10 points)
      #3. 9th (6 points)
      #4. 1st (14 points)
      #5. 9th (6 points)
      #6. 8th (7 points)
      #7. 11th (4 points)
      #8. Last (1 point)
      #9. 4th (11 points
      #10. 7th (8 points)
      #11. 5th (10 points)
      #12. 8th (7 points)

You would have a total of 97 points across the 12 categories. And the 97 points is compared to the other 13 teams in the league in order to establish the ranking...

      Right?

      im really upset right now...

i cant move kevin kouzmanoff to a 3rd base position because yahoo has him listed as a UTL. Hes the SD starting 3rd baseman...what problem does this cause me...well today for example...Mark Teahan isnt playing...he is the 3rd baseman for the Royals...i wanted to put Kouzie in at third and use jason giambi as UTL. but i cant put kouzie at third...so i had one player not playing a game today on my roster. Yahoo needs to step up on this...how do i contact them and complain??

      -Team El Tee's (currently 13th place) :icon_shrug:

Are you putting people in the right spot?

You can only put them in the positions listed next to their name.

You probably have errors because you're trying to put more than one person in the same position.

I hate head to head. You win by doing better than 1 other team, only that team changes each week.

In rotiseree you have to do better than everybody every week.

      I also hate waivers. :)

Believe me, we KNOW you hate waivers.

I have an "empty" spot in my pitchers area. How can I get a guy to put in there?

You don't have anybody on the bench, so you'll have to pick somebody up.

Click on add players and search for an available player.

And because we have waivers you'll have to wait 4 days to get him. And because you rank dead last in the waiver wire you'll have to hope nobody else tries to acquire the guy you want in those 4 days, or else you'll have to wait another 4 days to try and get someone else....again hoping nobody else tries to get him as well.

      Don't you love waivers?

I guess we're just going to have to disagree, because rotiseree sucks *** over head to head. Does every team in the MLB play every other team every day? No, of course not. Besides being impossible, the concept is stupid, just like rotiseree. Head to head is the only way to play.

As far as waivers, you already know how I feel and at this point it really is strting to sound like you're whining. Man up dude. I'm dealing with roto, you can deal with waivers.

I'm not whining, i'm just ranting.

I'd actually ask to have waivers reinstated if it was removed in response to my ranting. I'm just stating my opinion on it, and only went on a further rant because an example was shown as to why I hate it. (Rexy needing a new pitcher and now having to wait 4 days to get one.)

It's up to the person who starts the league what he wants in place. If he wants waivers that's his perogative.

I'm in 7 leagues anyways. 1 H2H, 1 point based, the rest roto.

Will try to pick a pitcher that can sit around exposed for 4 days later....

How do you get free agents? I signed up for a waiver but haven't heard anything yet.

Do I have to drop a player to get a waiver or free agent? Once I get the hang of this stuff, I plan on being good at this... Just getting there is the hard part...

It was ant. I came into the conversation because you countered by accusing him of drafting Peavy too early even though I was the one who drafted him.

Just make sure all relief pitchers and pitchers who are starting that day are not on the bench.

They put a little ^ by the part where it says who his team is facing if the SP is starting that day.

There isnt a certain amount of pitchers to play, You must play your starters when they pitch and put your closers in all the time cause you cant tell when they are going to get a save! You have to tool your players when they play like if your second baseman has a day off, and you have a second baseman on your bench that is playing that night you can swap them out so you can accrue points!

Actually the initial waiver period is over, so there are plenty of free agents that can be picked up immediately. Quit yer whining. :icon_tease:
