Maximum allowed avatar size has been changed.

    Old maximum size: 125 x 125 pixels, 64k
    New maximum size: 200 x 200 pixels, 100k

    -----------------

edit: 200 x 200 was to big on the screen, so it was changed again. New maximum size: 150 x 150 pixels, 100k

Now that I see an avatar at 200 x 200, it looks almost too big. Thoughts? Should we keep it at 200 x 200?

Why not meet in the middle at like 150x150?

Or are there set limits. I am fine with 125x125, but if we could increase the file size a little on animated avatars that would rock.

    Just my opinion.

I think 200 x 200 would be too big. Too many posts would go and be part of another page instead of staying on one page. It would take up too much space on a thread.

    Again my opinion.

    I think 125 x125 is perfect.

Ok, how about 150 x 150 and keep the 100k limit.

Ok, it's now set as follows:

    avatars: 150 x 150 pixels, 100k
    profile pic: 200 x 200 pixels, 100k

Thump, I like the 100k file size limit and believe it is viable to keep page load times down - I also agree with limiting the height to 150 pixels - but there is a lot of white space across the top of each post that is simply wasted... Suggest you could go to a width of 250 or 300 without a problem and stir the creative juices of the digital "artists". JMO....

Edited: Dang - too late again, you shifted it as I was posting. Day late and dollar short - thats me. :)

I like your idea of increasing the width, but I actually have plans for that white space. There are going to be some new feature installed over the next month or two that'll make use of at least some of that space.

Plus, the signature area gives the digital artists plenty of space to work with.
