Going to see Clapton/Winwood in DC on 6/13. Have seen them both separately, but really jazzed about the 2 of them together.
IMO... they haven't put out anything wroth buying since "Blood... Sugar... Sex... Magic." In the early 90's, I used to see them at this small club in Philadelphia called the Chestnut Cabre. Arenas don't capture that same environment.
IMO all their best stuff came out after "Blood....Sugar.... Sex.... Magic." (including that albuum) :icon_shrug: And it's hard to expect them to keep playing at small clubs as they gain popularity.
Well yeah. I saw them at Lalopalooza 92 during th BSSM tour and they were awesome in front of a stadium crowd outdoors. Then I saw that "One Hot Minute" tour and that sucked. They covered all of their slowest songs. I mean the crowd was all psycked for the show but about half way through the set, they were almost asleep. The newer stuff IMO is good enough to where when it comes on the radio, I keep it on but not good enough for me to buy it. In my college days... them and Jane's Addiction were my favorite bands. Though the newest JA album is pretty lame.
I've never seen them live so I can't comment on that. Although the crowd appears to be in it on all the youtube clips from Slane's Castle, which had to be at least after By The Way.
This is pretty cool Though I like the original better. Without going to Google, can you tell me who wrote this song is?
BSSM and Mothers Milk were awsome! The only time I ever saw them, they opened for the B52's at the Sports Arena. Flea in a diaper....Not what you wanna see. I like there new stuff, too.
Going to see Clapton/Winwood in DC on 6/13. Seen them both separately - together they should really rock. :icon_banana:
I'm so bummed out. I didn't realize The Cult was back on tour till they sold out in San Diego, LA, and Arizona. Stub Hub and Ebay wants $360 for 1 floor ticket. That's F***ing Insane!!! :icon_evil:
