It looks pretty bad. He's in serious condition and is undergoing surgery. Here's more info. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2480830
Well i hope he turns out ok, he seems to have a good career ahead of him, amazing what people will risk.
Stupid of him to not wear a helmet. Especially after the Kellen Winslow, and Jay Williams morotrycle accidents.
When are these young guys going to realize that they are potentially wasting millions of dollars by riding those morotcycles without protection?! Not to mention their lives!
Was it even that serious. The guy is going to be playing golf up here in Tahoe next weekend. I hear he's also going to be in some music video. :icon_eek:
I think he got a plate put in his jaw, but his mouth wasn't wired shut. He also lost a few teeth. That and I think he got a bloody nose. :icon_shrug:
Broken jaws can seriously hinder your balance and throwing accuracy. I hope they have a backup. Wait, no I dont, I hope Merriman knocks them all out!
Steelers | Roethlisberger told he was close to dying Wed, 12 Jul 2006 21:15:19 -0700 The Associated Press reports Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger (head) was told by people at the scene of his accident that he was close to dying. Roethlisberger said, "They told me that I was literally seconds, maybe a minute away from dying because I slit a vein or artery in my mouth or my throat and it was draining blood right into my stomach and luckily the paramedic noticed it and stopped it or else I would have had too much blood in my stomach." Roethlisberger admitted to remembering very few things from the accident and said he was not sure if he would ever ride a motorcycle again.
