If only the Lions, Bengals and Bears had coaches on the hot seat we could really have some fun with this...but Lewis and Trestman are safe.

I'd watch DET though, I think Schwartz may get it next.

NFLN reports Greg Schiano and GM Mark Dominik are out in TB.

Updated openings: TB, HOU, CLE, WSH, MIN

Personally, I think the Bucs may be the most attractive of these five.

Jim Schwartz just got canned in Detroit. Reported on NFLN.

No word on the front office here, though it's possible a purge is coming there.

Interesting thing is I was watching some of the pregame stuff with Schefter and he was adamant there would not be near the number of firings there were last year (8).

We're at 6 and counting (still looking potentially at TEN, MIA and OAK), nice call Schef...

IMO there should only be 5. There weren't any reports of Chud being on the chopping block in the last few weeks, and the amount of backlash that Cleveland's front office is getting right now is outright funny.

    For example:

    Aditi Kinkhabwala ‏@AKinkhabwala2
Local news guy just asked if Jimmy Haslam could assure Cleveland he doesn't have "the three stooges running this organization."

I'd buy that. I don't think anyone outside the organization really saw that one coming.

I'm betting most Cleveland fans right now wish they could trade up to the competence level of the Three Stooges…

ESPN reporting Mike Munchak fired by the Titans.

On the coordinator front -- Leslie Frazier is now the Bucs' DC and Wade Phillips is out in HOU.

loved his players not him. blitz every down is easy when you have the team he did. Everyone hated Cotrell but that's because they thought the D was still what it was and they didn't like his chess. What Rivera did was much more amazing than what Wade did

I've never been a fan of "Wades" defense. Wade sure ain't no Chuck LeBeau, nor can he be confused in such manner.

interested teens are just waiting for us to be done, and then someone will snatch him up.

If we lose tomorrow, Whiz will probably be announced as somebody's Head Coach by next weekend.

Who else is Dick LeBeau? Dude is a legend.

It's hard to name 5 better DCs than Wade Phillips, that aren't already HCs or Dick LeBeau.

I'll take our current no name DC...he's done pretty good with crap the last couple of years. Wade blitzing 5 or more with the current Chargers every down would be a nightmare.

I agree Pags has done the best he can with what he has, I'm all for keeping him next year if we can't (or don't attempt to) entice Wade. The thing is we know Wade Phillips is good, we only hope right now that Pags might be good.

We blitz 5 or more a lot now as it is, it's the only way we can manufacture pressure. Wade is great at blitz packages, that's why he's been doing this so long. He helped take Houston's D from record setting awful to top 10 in one offseason.

Exactly, Pags is only in his 2nd year as a DC and I do believe it might be a bit early to say he hasn't got it. They've had some solid games and have put the clamps on some good offensive units. Other than Weddle, I don't think there are many players on defense that are well known out of San Diego.

If we beat the Bengals badly tommorow, I wonder exactly how safe Marvin Lewis' job would be.

He would still be 0 for the postseason in Cincy, it would be his 3rd straight 1 & done in the playoffs, but the other 2 were on the road & this one would be at home, where they haven't lost all season - if that doesn't get ownership at least considering a change, I don't know what would.

Agree. I hated Wades prevent defenses when we barely had a lead and they always drove down easy for a FG. We lost some last second games because of that.
I do think Luiget and Reyes would thrive more in his one gap defense but then Pagano could run more of that.

You make a good point about Wades prevent, but we lost a few late game leads thanks to the defense this year as well.

Yes early on but not lately. We should of beat Washington of course from the 6" line and was it Cox who got beat deep at Tennessee? Should of won that game too. Benching Cox has made a big difference along with getting Ingram and JJ back.

I still support Pags so I'm not going to work too hard to bash him...but I have to remind you that we made guys like Pryor, Locker, Shaub, Vick, Smith and Daniel look like boarder line Pro Bowlers. The Skins game doesn't come down to the wire at all if out D hadn't gotten shredded in RG3s best performance of the season.

Regardless of talent level, we know what Wade Phillips is because of what he's done, but Pags is still a question mark.

I'm not going to lose sleep if we keep Pagano though, he's got a lot to prove.

Oh i know, i said after our second game that our defense was awful. Anytime you mkae Locker look like a probowler, there is a problem. Im not a fan of Locker at all and he set career highs against us. The defense has been better since then though it still isnt that great but remember, we have no pass rush . Its a little better now but wasnt worth a s**t then when we faced Vick, Locker, Pryor, Schaub.
Though Chase Daniel only threw for 200 yards. It was his scrambles and runs that hurt us the most.
Im willing to give Pagano more time. He needs better players.
