It is one thing to lose, but it is really disapointed to get our butts kicked like we did today.:icon_sad:
So, exactly what day is the draft? Oh yeah, fire everyone. A heck of a year, lots and lots of ups and downs, too bad there was one more down than up. :icon_sad:
Oh well. Tough breaks today. Steelers are a great team, but you can't account for tip passes flying straight up into the air and landing in the arms of two Steelers players. Nor can you account for punts that hit your blocker's head. You've got to have the breaks go your way to advance, and they didn't today. But, we will have an opportunity to draft in the top twenty, and we should be able to snag a great offensive or defensive lineman to really help us out.
We lost this game up front. AJ better draft some good D linemen, O linemen and at least another pass rusher. Our rushing game sucked. We may have stopped em a couple times on 4th down, but those 1st down 7-8 yard run plays were killing us. A lack of a pass rush outside of a blitz package didn't help either. hopefully Merriman can return to form next year.
Oh STFU...It was Rivera who had the bad gameplan today. We had no sacks against a OL that has nearly gotton Ben killed this year and we layed back and let em complete easy passes and we couldnt stop the run. How this is Norv's fault i just dont know. We ran 1 play in the 3rd quarter. Norv's fault or the defenses fault? If your going to complain, at least complain where it should be valid.
I forgot missed tackles. Except for Weddles, no one could tackle in space. May be Rivera can instill some basic tackling skills into these guys during the off season.
I disappeared for a while to try to help the ju-ju. But like I told you last week, the Chargers had to play a hell of a lot better to beat the Steelers. I wasn't being negative, I was being realistic, last week was sloppy, this week was pathetic.
We did have a sack. But Rivera gave up on the pass rushing blitzes and fell back into prevent. We need more beef on the D line with some pass rushing speed mixed in. Hopefully Merriman can return to his old form after his surgery.
They have been real good lately. One bad game out of the last 6 and they'll have a whole offseason with Merriman to come back stronger next year.
Yeah, the players coached themselves. Perhaps you cant put two and two together, but the players were the problem this season. When we were struggling you heard them complaining about this and that. They did not do what they are paid to... Play the schemes the coaches put in place. Before KC Tomlinson called a meeting and said "We are not the Raiders, we are not going out like that." Then people started asking what did Norv change. NOTHING! THE PLAYERS STOPPED COMPLAINING AND STARTED PLAYING. But I would not expect enlightened fans such as yourself or B4N to put two and two together... So I am just wasting more posting space.
Norv brings and undeniable losers mentality to this team, blame the players if you wan't, but this is the same team Marty went 14-2 with.
With rivers as a starting QB: 3 years under Rivers 3 years AFC West Champions 3 years playing in the Divisional round of the playoffs 1 year in the AFC Championship game. lets not forget the good with the bad we are feeling now. TD SPROLES!
Oh, and you know how? Because you read these threads? Because you can see it in his eyes? Yeah... Whatever...
