Good!!! on ESPN a legal analyst said this WILL go to trial. Bonds is going to jail

for each count of perjury its 5 years (the feds are trying to get him for 3) plus 1 count of obstruction thats 10 years

In a way he is, he lied about doing the roids. They questioned him about it and he lied.

Arent there worse things to worry about instead of whether Bonds lied to them or not?

Who really cares? The already know Palmeiro lied to them....wheres the outrage wit him?
How much time is Pacman going to get for being involved when a man was parylised?

Dont really care about Bonds and whether he "lied" or not. Many of them already have.

They don't have "jack" on Barry. It wouldn't have taken 4 yrs. to charge him if they did.

    Go Barry!

There is no evidence that Palmeiro lied, just because he tested positive after doesn't mean he was lying before, although it's very likely that he did.

They're going after Bonds because he's at the center of all the Balco stuff, no other player was involved this deeply. They must have proof that Barry took steroids knowingly before he testified to indict him. The Feds usually don't indict unless they have very solid evidence, they don't have a 90%+ conviction rate for nothing.

This is just the first step in the indictment process - same as happened to Vick.

Plead guilty to this charge, and the Feds don't indict for the criminal act involved with trafficking steroids.

This is a carrot. The hammer comes next.

They don't indict someone if they don't have anything on you. 90%+ conviction rate means they usually wait until they have very solid evidence before going forward.

4 yrs isn't really that long, when you consider what they have to have to have a very solid case against him. (that was a lot of have's)

I believe the part where Palmeiro says" i have never, ever used steroids"....makes him a liar.
In anycase......this is baseballs problem, not the feds. They should go phuck themselves and do something more productive.

Did he say it under oath to a Grand Jury?

Bonds lied to a Federal Grand Jury. That's a major no-no.

Um no it doesn't. He tested positive after making that statement, so that could of been true at the time. Although I really doubt it, plus it was in front of Congress not in front of a Grand Jury.

Basically, you can lie to the Legislative Branch, but not to the Judicial Branch of Government.

What does "contempt of Congress" carry? A don't do it again memo? :D

    Phuc Bonds. He's a liar & cheater. :icon_twisted:

Do the Feds have better things to do with their time? Sure. But he did, or at least I believe that he did, lie to a grand jury. Voilla!! Instant fed indictment.

If nothing else, I hope he gets the "asterisk".

Even though I think Bonds is a racist fucing prick I question the timing of this and I too think he's getting railroaded. That or it's the govt's way of telling Selig you didn't do enough to clean up the game and now **** is about to go down.

    Fuk Bonds.

    He took the steroids.
Lied about it to a Federal Grand Jury. That is what is going to fry is ***.
Dropped some lame *** Flax Seed Oil excuse and then was a smug ******* about it.

If he was innocent, then Anderson would not have been sitting in jail for the last year on contempt charges. He doesn't want to have to LIE for Bonds because then HE would be up on perjury charges as well.

    Karma baby.

I hope dude gets some time in a 9x9.

Wasn't his testimony in 2003...What is the stat of limitations on perjury in front of the grand jury...Maybe that had something to do with the timing...? I tried looking it up but couldn't find anything...

I'm pissed he took Peavys thunder after a unanamious Cy Young vote...
