Only thing we can do is bring up Rivera. Like it or not our defense showed some improvement, 14 of their points were off Special teams so the score looked worse than it was.

I'm all for firing a ***** like Norv and hiring a badass like Rivera. He may also be one of those coaches who has a better fit as an HC than a DC, like Singletary.

I reluctantly agree, I'm not liking Rivera's defense but a change there couldn't possibly be any worse, slap the interim tang on him and if he doesn't improve this season fire his *** also

Firing Rivera would be stupid....Rivera doesn't draft the players and Rivera didn't have a say when Jamal got injured. Likewise this argument could be easily used in Norv's favor, however I say at least Rivera has some balls...Norv throws a little fit on the sidelines when things don't go his way...but we all noticed how RR ripped *** Marine Corp style on the sidelines during the Pitt defensive meltdown....

I say just let Norv write his own death warrant this season because we are finished anyway.....At seasons end make a coaching decision whether that be hiring an outsider or promoting RR....As bad as I want Chucky...It won't happen because our GM only believes in hiring coaching burnouts an:icon_party:d adding FA scrubs every yr.....

if this defense continues to play this way, I do NOT want Rivera as a HC next season

If only we could be sure that Norv with get the farging ax... he should have been $hitcanned last year and it didn't happen. Maybe Norv has some dirty photos of AJ or Spanos that he can hold over their heads.

AJ won't hire a coach with balls like Gruden because he likes having a prissy little whipping boy like Norv to be his beetch.

That last Broncos "supposed" TD was a Hochuli call.

Bring in Mary Freaking Poppins as far as I care, but we need a change. I'm not one to support major changes during the season, but I will not complain if it happens!

Bring in Trumpet Man or Concudan for all I care.

They could do a better job than this guy.

I'd certainly take Gruden over Norval, but I don't want Gruden.

He rode Tony Dungy's team to a Super Bowl then proceeded to drive Tampa into the gutter.

No he got Dungy's team OVER THE HUMP, and watched his Raiders team make it with another coach after Grandpa Al canned him that year.

Gruden would get the Bolts over the hump IMO. For all we know he gets along with AJ.

Dungy's capable of winning a Super Bowl. (proof: 2006) I'm sure Tampa would have done just as well with him in 2002 as they did with Gruden.

Look at what happened to Tampa under Gruden's watch after that.

    No thank you.

"L.T. and the Chargers -- LAST in the NFL in rushing...who would have thought that?"

Is this Norv's fault? Or the player's fault? How did we come to this?

He never had a QB in Tampa. Only that SB year with Brad Johnson when he was pretty good. Never had a big time reciever, or Tight End on offense like we currently have.

Dungy won the SB only because of PEYTON MANNING!!!!

    Everyone knows that.

Bring Dungy to San Diego, I'm for that, because we have a franchise QB for him to work with. But I still think Gruden would kick their *** like the way they need it.

Gruden would want to come in here. He loves the offense, and would want to come in here and kick some ***.

Dungy, Cowher, Shanahan, Holmgren, or Martz, or even Fisher (if he gets fired) would not want to be here. Gruden would welcome it, and love it.

Norv has had 3 years since taking over this 14-2 team to get it done, and work out any small kinks, and just made it worse each year. If our defense picks it up, and can eliminate say 10-13 points a game, then our offense will get on the field more, and flourish more. So I'm not putting the entire 100% blame on Norv. (Do you hear me AJ???)

I'm not a huge fan of Gruden but is it his fault that the Bucs got old fast? And really look at them now, they're pathetic.

Look at the Raiders as well, they collapsed after Gruden left, 1 good season, then the players revolted.

But there's about a 0% chance of him coaching this team this year. Best option right now would probably be Rivera, and then hand Pagano DC and Chud OC.

I thought AJ said he's happy with Norv's coaching?? He didn't say anything about not demoting him.

I've soured on AJ but not to the point of demanding he be fired yet. He's still the person who built the team everyone thinks could have won a Super Bowl with a more competent head coach.

My stance on him right now is similar to the stance I had on Kevin Towers the past year and a half before he got canned.

I don't necessarily want him fired but I wouldn't complain if it happened like I would have a few years ago.

Then we all should cast our eye's on Deano's office, he has the final say and can call the shots.

    What are you talking about?

Dean doesn't control anything. He just does whatever AJ tells him to do.

At least that's what B4L tells me.

Can someone show me or convince me why Gruden would be hte best bet?

He runs a west coast offense, so we'd have to make changes no?

WCO is a slimmed down version of what we run. I'd keep Joiner on as the OC.

I doubt anything is going to happen so we're stuck with what we have right now.

I think hte majority of us are talking about hiring a new coach/dc in the off-season, i accept we're stuck with NOrv/Rivera until Jan 4 (day after last game of the season)
