Don't get me wrong.. I still bleed blue n gold, always will. But I'm not paying good money to fly to see them coached by a guy that gets conservative and goes 'turtle' when he should continue to stamp on people's throats. And as for the DC, OMG, how this guy is working is beyond me.
This better not get lost in all this. Our medical staff/trainers need to GTFO. From Chow in court and Collins BS'ing bout how the concussion and seizure were not related, F me. These guys are clowns. Our guys seem to get injured so easily you have to wonder WTF these guys are at. Malcom Floyd should have a proper trainer all to himself.
If we bring in aggressive players. Unfortunately, right now we don't have a Willis, Bowman, Brooks -type of LBer corps. Get some studs for the defense who can produce, you just might see a difference. It's hard to make chicken salad outta chicken ****.
Out LB corps got old and slow. No more firecrackers bringing the pop. We have some young big men on the D line which is a positive... Definite holes at CB and LB...
Am I speaking in a foreign language when I keep telling people we can't get away with rushing only 4 guys? 3 of which are 300 + pound dudes who really don't have a hope in hell at speed rushing past their blockers in time to affect the play anyway? Which leaves our LBs and CBs covering recievers so long they finally get beat? Which is exactly why we are 32nd in 3rd down defense, because we're not bringing pressure on passing downs. Am I speaking Swahili or something?
So go turn in your illustrious resume for DC. Be sure to include that you watch lots of youtube vids & listen to Sirius NFL all day at work.
One great need I see with the Bolt's is in the medical and training staff. Please someone tell me how English can have the same broken foot two years in a row???
14-2 < 8-8 new math I guess he didnt attend that JAX N Ville on MONDAY EMPTY !!!! FAIL !!! WARNING!!!!
I can't agree Buck, it's not like Manusky's D in San Fran was ripping teams apart. And yet look at that D now, more or less same players, different coach. They didn't allow a rushing TD all year or somethin like that. Imho Manusky is an amateur doing his best to BS his way round the football world, not up to it. Let's go get ourselves a proper DC. If Crennel doesn't make it to HC in KC go get him.
Happy New Year btw, got your text. There is something up with my phone that it isn't sending intl texts at mo!. Talk soon on FB or somethin.
What if we keep Manusky and he brings in Ahmad Brooks? But then again he left me with a lot of stress this season -__-
Spikes played well, particularly considering the mileage on his body. LaBoy just flat out sucks & it's an insult to Brooks to compare the two. You really should give up those season tix, Ant. After all those years & you still don't know jack-**** about football. Stick to insulting out-of-town visitors, mmmkay?
What exactly would brooks do? Give us another OLB that we won't blitz or use to pass rush? Another person to be put out of position in coverage while he rushes 3 DL and a spare OLB? The issue isn't so much the personnel (though I don't find Brooks to be a good OLB regardless) as the scheme and the man running it. Prevent defense and rushing 3 is no way to go through a season And you should stick to something your competent in, like the Hokies
Damn right I am. If that was an insult, it just rolled right off my dirty tie-dyed back. Maybe, just maybe, if we had a little more talent in our LBer unit you'd see more production & aggression. This year we had Spikes - tough against the run, lacking coverage. Butler, essentially a rookie. A rotation of primarily LaBoy (who sucks) & Barnes, who really wasn't prepared to take the amount of snaps he took. And Phillips. Now just who the hell was supposed to be putting so much pressure on the QB? Who was consistently commanding double-teams on our DL once Castillo went down? Last time I checked, 5 OL vs. 4 pass rushers is still not exactly an advantage. I'm not pleased with Manusky's performance but I also don't think it was all on him. But coaches are the easy scapegoat, so why think about any alternative?
Fun Fact: The New England Patriots Went 13-3 Without Beating A Winning Team The New England Patriots cruised to a 13-3 record on their way to the AFC's top seed, but Tim Britton of the Providence Journal uncovered a disquieting fact for Pats fans: the team only played two games against franchises that finished with winning records, and lost them both -- to the Steelers in Pittsburgh and at home against the Giants. Huh. Fun fact indeed. I didnt realize we werent the ONLY team that faced sup par skilled teams.
I also think we didn't have much in the way of pass rushers last year or the year before but we still blitzed heavily under Rivera's system, blitzed from multiple angles, and proceeded to get a bunch of sacks and turnovers. Granted many of those weren't at times when we desperately needed them in 2009-2010 BUT the numbers were there. This year, we did little blitzing, got few sacks, and when we did blitz they weren't mixed up or creative, and were handled with little difficulty. A coach can be an scapegoat but when his system is strongly to blame, especially considering a similar cast of characters last year and the results, it really is the fault of the coach. But if you want to accept the status quo then by all means please do, you seem content with norv & AJ ergo the next step is to accept the worse than mediocre performance of manusky
Maybe I should. You don't need a doctorate to see what we're doing isn't working. Hell maybe my mom should, she could do a better job than that douchebag Manusky.
I just about drove off the road listening to the NFL channel onSirius XM yesterday when Tim Ryan & Pat Kirwan slapped each hands & joyfully announced the "good news" that AJ and Norv have been retained. Kirwan then gushed on about AJ and Norv, and congratulated Dean for not giving into the big mouths complaining about them who have never played in the NFL, or the fans (who he totally dismissed). Kirwan wasn't done, he then warned pissed off Charger fans, they better start going to games or they can say goodbye to the Chargers.
