So, you think this team is so weak in veteran leadership, that one guy like McKinnie will poison the locker room?

He won't get anything long-term & is at least as good an option as anything we have currently penciled in at LT.

Yes - he came in overweight & out of shape. And when Cam continued to refuse to use him, who got canned & who came in to get them through the run just prior to & through winning the SB?

Just think - now we can suck for Matthews or Lewan in 2014! Pre-emptive dives for all!!

I don't see the team doing worse then 7-9. I doubt were going to have a top 10 pick next year. We probably would have to trade up to secure one of those LT's.

So? That means we sign him tomorrow? If he clears the physical, I would think it would take at least a day to put the contract together.

You under-estimate the power of fans to clamor for losses.

Really? How did that work out last year? Bunch of fans were asking that to happen. It held no power in the end. If any year it would of been easy for that to happen, it would of been last season. We won two pointless games to end the season, and pummeled the Jets into submission with like a gazillion sacks(what was it? 11,12, 13?).

The chargers play with integrity, and McCoy and the coaching staff would never allow it either. Ive never known an NFL team to go out and loose on purpose.

The players don't care about what's in the best long-term team-building interests of the franchise. They care about their incentives and their game tape. The team could be 2 losses away from the number 1 pick and they'd win those games, because the players want to win.

I wouldn't be surprised if we're picking top 10 next year, but that's mainly because our guard situation is rough, our CB situation is transitioning, and Hardwick is still our center and still can't block NTs.

    Leber would know best..

If the Ravens didn't make the playoffs, I wonder what his teammates would be saying about him now? :whistling:

It's a power-zone. So while it's a zone-scheme it's not Shannarat's cut-block-heavy zone-blocking scheme. Instead, go watch Wisconsin or Alabama, both of them run power-zone - and all of their starting OL at right around 315-320+.

We'll have to agree to disagree then. Because McKinnie has been directly quoted as saying he's "not giving any discounts"(http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/03/11/mckinnie-declares-no-discounts-for-the-ravens/). And when you compare yourself to a Maserati, it does put some context into what you think your worth is.

if it's a one year deal at under 2 million (preferably not guaranteed unless he makes the 53 man roster) I'll be ok with this

I wouldn't be suprised if it is closer to $3mil, but I would be OK with that as long as he is healthy and committed to play

Am I the only one really, really missing Jared Gaither? ;)

I was pretty cheesed-off when the Chargers paid him to leave,
and I remember asking my friends:

"Do you really think the Chargers be able to replace Gaither?
How many 340+ lb. non-starting, ex-Raven castoff tackles--who can truthfully say:
'I'm great, when I'm in the mood'--do you think are out there?"

Negotiations between Chargers, Bryant McKinnie are still "ongoing," per source. Adds SD visit could end shortly with a flight back home.

Keep hoping, Doug. One of these days you'll have a Hurricane on the team again.

Of course, the odds of that happening would probably be substantially increased if the program got back to being actually good again.

Such a shame they had to put off making that movie until they did. Billy Dee would have been a shoe-in for the role!

I'm not one clamoring for them to lose to supposedly improve.

    Lighten up, Francis.

The thing that's so strange is he was tweeting like crazy. Updating everything, his Miami visit was updated all the way until h got to Dallas, Dallas tweeting all the way until he got to San Diego, Tweeting all the way about their meeting and dinner, his last tweet about showing up at Chargers park, he's been dead silent.

But I read somewhere Gehlken said a source saw him heading for the airport @ 3:00 yesterday. Yet he still hasn't tweeted how uncomfortable the air plane was or anything.
