Charger players running @ 8a.m. Antwan Barnes loosening up over hurdles Mathews Throwing a medicine ball up in the air, The dude looks like a beast, Not coming into camp out of shape this year Weddle, Stuckey, and Cason walking in between drills. In the back is our Rivers (anytime you see him you can't help but be stoked), Polk, and Bigby's head (anyone else think he looks stoned? haha) Green trying to fly? lets hope this is our new pro bowl caliber LG
The whole building shakes as Garay pounds the medicine ball against the wall Rivers working on technique Floyd and Meachem Working out together once again Rivers is doing all the lifting while Clipboard Jesus sits and supervises everything Here's to banking that these 2 giants may very well be the 2 who protect Rivers all year Weddle pumped this morning
That comment on Matthews reminds me that last week Darren had some draft prospect on the air and when asked if he met any players while doing a visit, he said he met Matthews and commented about how surprisingly huge Matthews was
Haha yeah it was Courtney Upshaw"I never knew he was that big. Dude was huge... I would love to play there..." He looks bigger this year
If he's still fast, that extra muscle will keep him healthier through the season. Nothing wrong with adding weight if you can keep your athleticism high.
Bring on the season already- i'm currently writing about the Chargers for a university assignment and its getting me even more pumped!
Fumbling is mostly a result of how you hold the ball, rather than strong you are. His guns could rival 1970s Schwarzenegger and he'd still fumble the ball carrying it low and away.
Some great pix there, tks for posting them. Mathews does look extra big, must got the same CVS as Merriman. Who is that in the pic with Gaither?, is it Vasquez or Green?.
hahahahahahaha..................... also Dub's, I really don't think "The Enforcer" Vasquez is in the same Suntan League as Green from what I've seen over the years ?
Matthews definitely looks yoked up. I guess last year's little embarrassment regarding his conditioning served as motivation. I wonder who is strength/conditioning coach was during the offseason? Hopefully no one on the Chargers' staff.
Ha ha you are correctamundo my friend. The lighting in that pic had me wondering!. Wow look at that draft class. Check out the guns on Stuckey F me.
If you mean the guy in the middle with the arms the size of my waist...I'm pretty sure it is Stuckey.
#25 in that picture is Ellison. That is the 2009 draft class, which is why he's standing next to English, Vasquez, Green etc... Stuckey was 2010.
hehehehehehehehe, you guys are killin'me here !!! As Matti has correctly stated, Ellison and Stuckey were drafted a year apart, so Dubby is 2 outta 2 on naming players, but in his defence, you dont often see many pics of these guys without a helmet on, so we'll cut the little leprecian some slack here. and also a pity Ellison had an addiction to the "Dr Chao supplied painkillers" he was caught with by the cops, in a farking schoolzone no less, I actually thought this kid could play a bit and was disappointed he didn't cut it.
Thats the key to this whole "added muscle" issue Ike. If it does help him ward off those niggly injuries and doesn't hinder his speed and agility factors, then its a good thing. But if it slows him down at all, then all that extra muscle will be nothing more than a bigger target for LB's to aim at and pulverise. Be interesting to see how he looks running the pill in preseason.
Did they give him Toniu Fonoti's old one's ??? Those could easily house a small village of Pintubi pigmy's on the Amazon comfortably, I'd reckon.
