Ok, lets all give 3 game balls.

    Mine:
RM24, monster day 24 rushes for 144, 6 yards per carry.
KA13, 5 receptions for 89 yards, 17.8 average. But broke the franchise record for reception yards by a rookie receiver. Offensive Rookie of the Year, in my opinion.
EW32, good game all around. 9 solo tackles, 3 assists, was around the ball all day.

Mathews. Best guy out there tonight.
Weddle. For his massive balls to call that fake.
Allen. Even though he slipped I got to give it to him for 1000 yards.
Gates and Green. Love these guys.
    Novak. For not being Succop.
    Succop. I love you, man.
Rex Ryan. I hate you, but today you get some lovin' too.
Marvin Lewis. Enjoy it, cuz next week the Bolts are going to be out of control.

    And last but not least:

The fans at the stadium. You guys were a phenomenal 12th man tonight.

I've got one, and it goes to Pags for getting his defense back on the straight and narrow to keep us in that game. That man has done WORK this season and has been criticized plenty-- at times by me. But he adjusted and kept us in a game when it mattered most. Here's to him and to a more talented defense in 2014 and beyond.

How about one for T'eo - 7 tackles, 3 assists? He picked a good game to show up.

He's been getting better every week. He had a nice game last week too. Saw him take on guard in the hole and shed on more than one occasion.

    Matthews another solid game
    Gates had some big catches.
And Eric W you can't ignore the play of the game...fake punt!

The Refs for missing the illegal defense on Succups missed field goal. ( according to the Sunday Night Football post game analysis.)

Well, a bogus flag on a FG cost us a win against the Texans way back in week one. I guess this non-call just evened things out.

Weddle...... for having the stones to run the fake punt. McCoy wouldn't have called that one, trust me. ;)

He did have to give the green light to weddle to do that. In anycase we got the win so we can ride turtle all the way to a SB win.

Actually, it was Spencer (the special teams coach) that gave Weddle the green light....... McCoy looked furious on the sideline. ;)

    Gameballs:

Ryan Matthews: I was one his biggest critics and I'll never refer to him as Ryana as he was a beast. We'll need him to be that to win the playoffs.

Eric Weddle: Easily the 2nd best player in team, and is the heart of this defense. It seems every time there was a tackle he was there in a pile.

    KA/PR/ER - All played good.

Did I miss a news bit that said Weddle went rogue and called it? Or are people just assuming here?

    Either way I don't care.

I do find it kind of funny that McCoy is being demonized under pure speculation that he wouldn't want to have made a call that I'm sure the percentages scream you shouldn't make just because it worked when he was being demonized for punting in Denver because the percentages said he should have gone for the FG even though that worked after the fact.

    Then why comment? ;)

There are a lot of reasons the Chargers are in the postseason. Oh-so-many things had to go their way over so many weeks and right on through most of the extra period of their 27-24 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.

But one of those reasons is an intrepid, slightly crazy decision made by Weddle.

The Chargers had just stalled after the first three plays of overtime and were set to punt on fourth-and-two from their 28-yard line.

Special teams coach Kevin Spencer gave Weddle the green light to call a fake, depending on what he saw when the teams lined up for the snap.

“Dude,” Andrew Gachkar said to Weddle as they jogged onto the field, “you better speak loud if you’re thinking it.”

What Weddle saw were just six Chiefs in the box. He waited and watched to see if any more defenders would crowd in toward the line. They didn’t.

Such a look begs for a fake. Special teamers love fake punts. They get mad in practice when Weddle doesn’t opt for one. But calling it in that situation is easier said than done, sort of like swimming in the shallow end of a pool versus swimming in a shark-infested ocean.

“Unbelievable call,” right guard Jeromey Clary would say later. “I’m glad he did it. I never would have called it, but I’m glad he did it.”

Look, Blue, I know when you're young, it seems like you have an infinite amount of time
and energy with which to demonize. But that's an illusion. You really ought to ration it,
and save your demonizing for Norv, where it is always appropriate (even when it doesn't seem to make sense).

2nd half defense adjustments, only allowing 3 points which came off a long punt return and finally being able to get off the field on 3rd down.
