SAN DIEGO (AP)—The San Diego Chargers have waived outside linebacker Shawne Merriman, three weeks after he was placed on injured reserve with a “minor injury” designation.

The Chargers said back then that they would release Merriman once he was healthy.

The Chargers also placed frequently injured wide receiver Craig “Buster” Davis on injured reserve with a groin injury, meaning his season is finished. Davis hasn’t lived up to his billing as a first-round draft pick in 2007.

The Chargers re-signed offensive tackle Adam Terry.

Buster (Bust) Davis back on IR. What a surprise. He has talent but he can not stay healthy.

    Time to cut our losses.

I am definitely not sad to see Buster go. He had 50 or so catch in the 4 years that he was here. It is time to starting the Buster David pick a ... bust.

I had a feeling Merriman came back to camp so he could lame out and get paid with out playing a down. What a wus.

To be fair, Merriman did play about 1.75 games to get half is pay check. :)

I need a job like that...
