    Not shocked to read this.......

The San Diego Chargers today waived safety Brandon Taylor[IMG]. The third-round pick in 2012 appeared in four games with one start as a rookie. He was inactive for all 16 regular season games and both postseason contets a year ago.

"We’d like to thank Brandon for his work and contributions to the Chargers the last three years, and wish him the best as he continues his career,” said General Manager Tom Telesco

Unfortunate, had high hopes for him. But, he continues to get fluid drained from his knee, which is never a good sign not to mention he probably has been effected by it on the field.

Gives me confidence they want to strike a deal with Brandon Flowers today.

And yet, Mouton continues to lead a charmed life. ;)

Well Mouton tore his ACL last July. Wright tore his ACL in December of 2012. They probably lost patience with Taylor and his setbacks. Not to mention the possibility of bringing in Brandon Flowers (another DB).

Not to mention Jahleel Addae taking snaps away from him.

Not much a cap savings by cutting Taylor... don't get too excited (yet)

As long as he gets a signing bonus it doesn't matter what his base salary would be, we will have @ 40-50 million next year so realistically we can afford to sign him this year for less by making the latter years more to be what he's signing for.

*hypothetically* 2 million this year with a "X" amount in signing bonus which would be his money to do what ever

then 3 or 4 million in the next few years

Well, we were at 90 players with Taylor (no roster space), with his release we get a spot back. An the fact it was a DB tells me something..

Most certainly, but Addae got more snaps than Stuckey did last year. Stuckey is more of high FS in that nickel package we played, as opposed to Addae.

Oh sure, I just like as many good options in the secondary as possible. The more flexibility we have the better.

Watch for Alden Darby.. Would not be surprised at all if he made it, I've been saying it since we've signed him but I know Gehlken just tweeted it out.
