    Because you're overrating KC. Yes, they have some nice skill position players and some nice pass-rushers, but anytime a 2-14 team turns around and goes to the playoffs you should be examining things closer.

    The primary reason the Chiefs made the playoffs that season was the rest of the division imploded (our ST fell off a cliff, McDaniel and Cutler having their tiff that caused Denver to drop to Kyle Orton as their starting QB) and the Chiefs were playing the easiest schedule in the league. It's an identical situation to the Colts this year and the Bucs two years ago. When you're playing a last place schedule you can lose to the playoff teams from interconference/division play and still scrape together a winning record (particularly if your division isn't terribly strong). If you look at the Pythagorian wins statistic for KC that season they were once of the strongest cases for taking a massive dip in the wins department the following season (last year) and lo' and behold... look what happened!
