I think, or at least hope the article was just suggesting replacing Kouz at 3rd for one game, to give him a break.

I'm sure his regular playing time would be in left.

    Why?

You'd rather leave a hole in left field and replace one of our better hitters?

Unless you're suggesting a Kouz trade.

I wouldn't be totally against that depending on the return.

But with our roster as is with the addition of Headley, replacing Kouz instead of one of our OFers would be....to be perfectly blunt, dumb.

only way this happens is if we get a hell of an offer for Kouz (i'm thinking like Shane Victorino perhaps). For right now I don't mind two big hitters like Headley and Kouz on this team at the same time. I'm just not sure about his playing time considering Mackie and Huber are playing somewhat well

Huber's probably going to get the cut to make room for Headley

That is, unless Hairston goes on the DL.

Kouzmanoff isnt a scrub. He is going to get better every year and who is to say that Headley is as good a 3rd baseman?

Why do you think Headley would be worse in the OF?

    (Honest question)

With the roster as is we're better off with Headley in LF and Kouz at 3B.

But as I posted earlier, I'd be open to a trade of Kouz if the return is decent.

All due respect, that's just stupid!
Kouz has shown the glove and the bat to remain where he is.

While hitting major league pitching differs from hitting minor league pitching and pitching to major league hitters differs from pitching to minor league hitters, defense is defense no matter where you're playing.

    What's stupid? Trading him?

I said for the right price.

I'm not saying trade him just to trade him, because I agree, that is stupid.

But we have a third baseman that can take his place, so if some other GM wants to give us a good return for Kouz I'm fine with it.

Nevin and Klesko's respective inabilities to convert to the OF is irrelevant to whether or not Headley can or can not make the transition.

first day in LF and in yankee stadium (where hell half the team seemed to have jitters) so he gets something of a mulligan.

Yeah now he plays 3B more - I'd like to see what Huber can do regularly out there at LF.
