I appreciate your optimism, but the officiating has not been the problem. It is the team results that are killing us.
It's unbelievable, I don't think I've ever seen a season quite like this one. I hope that you like the bald look:icon_eek:
Yeah, the domes goin ta be bare a while it seems. Hey take what enjoyment you cant. Enjoy that we pressured the QB more. enjoy the running game did better. Take what you can where you can... There is always next season.
I f'ing hate zebras..... they aren't the only reason we lost, but they're a piece of the puzzle and they shouldn't be and it's getting really ****ing old. EVERY game, there is a "phantom" PI call that extends a drive after our defense holds the line. John Madden finally said it - it was a manufactured call. Totall buillshit. On a positive note, the defense is looking more and more like themselves each week under Rivera and tonight the offense, including the running game also played well. It might not be enough or in time to save the season - but it's not over yet and we still have a chance - we're back in the same position as we were last Sunday night, no one expected the Raiders to light up the Donks.
I will say this. When the Chargers ball was spoted, it was always where the knee was. When the Colts were spotted it was where the ball was. Not a big difference, but one none the less.
Well, the problem that I saw with the spot, was that the first ref spotted it in a position where it was clearly a fourth down, and the second ref spotted it forward from where the first ref had spotted it, which caused the official challenge.
The issue was all game long. There was twice that the Chargers got the ball over the first down line. Yet the refs marked the ball where the knee was. But same situation with the Colts and they got the first downs...
True. I thought it was doubly funny how the ref picked Jammer off on that fourth down play. Added insult to injury.
I decided to grow my hair for a couple reasons, one of which was tied to the Lombardi. It is now on the top of my shoulder blades. I suspect it will be down to my *** when they bring it home.
Just between you and me, Conc, sooner or later we have a scandal brewing. I suspect, but will not definitively state that there is an integrity problem, but there are guys who should be dumped and the league absolutely needs full time officials.
They need young officials. I do not believe there are any officials younger than 40 in the NFL. They are trying to keep up with young powerhouses. Not a winning combination.
As ridiculous as it sounds, we still can win the division. Indy was the last of the tough teams we face, and the Donkeys have a much harder schedule. As long as the players play like they still care, we have a good shot.
 That boat has sailed. We are staring at a 6-10 season. 8-8 if we catch some breaks which we are not. And Denver has a cake schedule here on out.
I'm not sure it's youth. To be good at something, there is a book that says you need something like ten thousand hours of experience. The author talks about composing orchestral music, fine painting or even just playing something like sax or piano. Refereeing is not in that class, but there is a need for constant exposure. The refs should be paid year round and begin working during the off season workouts and attend the training camps and film sessions. They should be as familiar with the game as the coaches and the players. The game evolves from season to season and the refs are out of the loop. Try as the NFl might, they have an incompetence problem they can't cover up.
Ray -- As I mentioned before, love your optimism...but how we can we now say we face no more tough teams? Atlanta and Tampa are fighting for playoff spots in the NFC, the Raiders showed a hell of a lot of heart and blistered the Donkeys in their house. And we're going to Arrowhead in the cold, which has been a house of horrors over the years no matter how good or bad we are. When you're 4-7, everyone is tough. Unfortunately, I think this one was the backbreaker.
Realistically, I know the season is over, and I really don't want to sound too optimistic. But as long an the Donkeys keep choking away chances to clinch this division, there is a sliver of hope. The D is playing with so much more energy and discipline, and if LT would just nut up and Rivers not turn over the ball in the redzone, then maybe we can get this within 1 game before heading into week 17. But again, one more Donkey win combined with a Bolt loss, and it's completely over.
I admire some of your spirit, but we're done folks. Let's just party our asses off before the games and then go home instead of watching the trainwreck every Sunday. N:icon_huh:rv promotes rampant alcoholism in fanbases.
WHAT!!!???? WIN DIVISION???!!!PLAYOFFS?! no..lets not embarrass ourselfs anymore. the sooner we can get LT healing his toe and Merriman back on the field..and hopefully fix whats wrong with the team. personally, I dont wanna see the bolts get a wild card slot or win division. this season wasnt good to the team. i believe next season will be alot better.
