I doubt it. The Mediots are still in love with Manning. They will probably explain how the loss was not his fault.
If there is a God. However, if Brady or Rodgers go HAM on the Texans or Niners D's, respectively, it's entirely possible that one of them gets the nod. Sadly, the league doesn't want a RB winning MVP anymore. It wants it's MVP connected with putting up gobs of TD's and huge scores. Likely why we'll never see a defensive player win the honor under the current format. Peterson and, I would contend, JJ Watt have more legitimate cases than any QB this season. But neither is as marketable on the global level as a QB is.
If it were my vote I would have to pick AP. He is the only reason the Vikes got to the playoffs. Watt had the best season of a defensive player but the Texans probably would have made the playoffs without him. I would have to say it is a tie for comeback player of the year. Peyton/AP. Leaning more toward Peyton since AP would be MVP.
2k rushing yards 6 months after tearing an ACL. Comeback player of the year and MVP. Give Manning offensive player of the year.
