Maybe i would, Maybe I wouldn't. But none of that negates the fact that you, nor I have any way of knowing for sure whether or not this is serving as a distraction to Whis getting the offense ready....and we have no idea of knowing whether or not he'd be distracted even without it considering he knows the interviews would be pending at some point.

What if Donald Butler is distracting himself with pending free agency? If we lose I'm blaming Butler for that!

What makes you think that this game has more of your attention than anyone else's, let alone the people who are focused solely on it (e.g. the players). I think you are falling into hubris to think that in some way any fan has more invested in this than any player or coach, even the one interviewing for jobs...

Do you need to hear it? Would you believe it if you had heard it? Watch the player interviews, they are all saying it, McCoy's post game locker room speeches say it "WE ARE NOT SATISFIED!"

Everyone who is close to the team is saying Whisenhunt is focused on the game. If you choose to think it differently, so be it, but the message is out there. Will you believe it? That my friend is the question.

Well you waffled around the real question by pointing a finger back at me, but that's okay I'm used to it.

To re-emphasize, I want to believe it will have no impact on Whiz' preparation, but it's like asking a guy to keep his eyes on the road when there's a hot chick jogging on the bike path, now he's got to refocus.

    Let's hope he can.

I'm still waiting for you to answer my question of how we know whether or not it'd still be a distraction even without the interviews that he still would know are pending.

I mean, 2 to 4 hours out of his weekend after most of the practice is in the books isn't going to be a huge distraction. I sure hope you don't think that.

I'm pretty sure your concern is that he's preparing for these interviews and thinking about them leading up to them....to which I ask how we know he wouldn't be doing that anyway if that's the distraction? He knows he's going to be interviewed before or after the playoffs, so that part of the potential distraction (which is the more crucial one) is there either way.

Of course we don't know for sure, but like Adam Gase is showing it didn't need to be a question at all.

But I'm postulating that it's a question either way.

The only thing this is bad for is useless PR crap because fans fall into flawed thinking like what's being argued here and now they'll blame Chargers management if the team loses.

But, of course, fans typically find ways to blame management and coaching after all losses, so I guess nothing's different.

I believe I answered that question in saying that the people close to the team are indicating he IS NOT distracted. Thus why I suggested the issue is you not believing what is said.

Can you not drive ahead, observe a hot girl for a second without crashing your car? If you can, why would Whisenhunt not be able to?

He's giving people the ammo himself, so don't weep for him if we do lay an egg on offense, and they do bring it up. It's a natural question, and you're in no better position than I am to say that it won't affect him. So it's wait and see.

That's wonderful, and I'm just drawing the more human conclusion...that it MIGHT BE, regardless of press release propaganda.

    Am I being unreasonable?

Press release propaganda. Well, if that is what you see so be it...

Unreasonable.... Yeah a bit. You are borrowing trouble, expecting the worst, getting upset about it, and making judgement off of it with nothing but your personal twist on it. If you feel that is 'humanizing' this go on with it... But if the Chargers win, will you eat crow?

Not at all, because I accept the possibility that I may be wrong, I'm giving you a middle ground. You've given nothing, which says that you either...
    a) believe that there is no way on this earth that you can be wrong.
    b) are just arguing for the hell of it.

    Either way it's childish.

So no I will not eat crow if we win, or if we score 30-40 points in a loss. I will gladly admit I was worried about nothing and move on with life.

I am not sure how saying that you want to hear what has already been said, and documented, choosing to call it press propaganda is giving middle ground.

I am not looking to argue with you, and have repeatedly said if you choose to think that way so be it ( I disagree).

But yes, I think you are borrowing trouble.

I don't see any middle ground from you and you don't have to give any.

I also don't see how anyone will EVER know if either side is right. If we lose it may not be on Whisenhunt. If we win, it may not be because of him. So what really is it you want? We are both pissing into the wind on this one...

I said MIGHT BE...or did you conveniently miss that part? That's the middle ground, that's admitting I could be totally wrong. This argument should be done, you're the one finding things to bitch about now.

But it becomes relevant again if we lay an egg on offense, then the questions that never needed to be asked will be asked, and rightfully so by those of us who know Ken Whisenhunt isn't a robot in a human skin suit.

(1:52 pm ET) Concern is growing that Chargers featured back Ryan Mathews will be unavailable for the Sunday playoff game at Denver. He missed his third straight practice on Friday.
Mathews had missed the first two practices last week with the ankle injury, leading to speculation that he was taking the same route to participation.
