I know it's too early and training camp hasn't even started but I'm bored and thought it would be interesting to predict who will make the 53 but more so I did it off of who I think won't make it
Put yours up on here and we'll compare I put Ingram behind Phillips with JJ playing in on 1st and 2nd but I truly believe we're not going to have a true #1 but more of a mix, lets say for instance if we play a run first team JJ will start passing teams like Patriots Ingram will start
Also I had a really hard time keeping Cesaire, and Stuckey on there. Cesaire stayed for depth and Stuckey for ST. Same can be said for Hester he made it because ST and the fact that he can play FB and RB if called upon incase of emergency. I'd like to see Gamble make the roster but maybe he's still eligible for practice squad
i used your offense since that who i had and i didnt feel like re typing it. I was actually thinking about that this morning about your Gilchrist ahead of Jammer thought, I see them playing him a lot more seeing if he can be what they think he can be
Here's my 2 cents, if we get Tolzien back he is 3rd QB if not we got with the 2 and bring in another O lineman. Molk, Troutman and Baker to the PS. Offense QB: Phillip Rivers, Charlie Whitehurst, Scott Tolzien RB: Ryan Mathews, Vet signing or Brinkley FB: Le'Ron McClain, Jacob Hester WR1: Robert Meachem, Eddie Royal, Richard Goodman WR2: Malcolm Floyd, Vincent Brown, Micheal Spurlock TE: Antonio Gates, Ladarius Green, Randy McMichael, Dante Rosario LT: Jared Gaither, Mario Henderson LG: Tyronne Green, Steve Schilling C: Nick Hardwick, Colin Baxter RG: Louis Vasquez, Dombrowski RT: Jeromy Clary, Vet signing DEFENSE LDE: Corey Liuget, Luis Castillo NT: Antonio Garay, Cam Thomas LOLB: Shaun Phillips, Melvin Ingram, Antwan Barnes LILB: Takeo Spikes, Jonas Mouton RILB: Donald Butler, Demorrio Williams, Andrew Gachkar ROLB: Jarrett Johnson, Larry English RDE: *Vaughn Martin, Tommie Harris, Kendall Reyes LCB: Quentin Jammer, Shareece Wright, Vet signee RCB: Antoine Cason, Marcus Gilchrist SS: Atari Bigby, Brandon Taylor FS: Eric Weddle, Darrell Stuckey Special Teams: K: Nate Kaeding P: Mike Scifres LS: Mike Windt
Honestly I love the potential Reyes and Ingram can bring to the table and I really wanted either Harrison Smith or Mark Barron but Taylor may just be my favorite player in this draft. Also I love the pick of getting Ladarius Green. I see as the season goes on he'll get more playing time with McMichael more as our blocking TE and Gates and Green playing more of a Receiver role. Just imagine Meachem, Floyd, and Green out wide, with Royal and Gates playing underneath on certain plays. Who the hell would teams focus on to cover?
F'ing SF is trying to get something in a trade for Tolzien those Bastards I was thinking if they needed help at center I would trade Baxter for him but honestly I would like to see what Jarrett Lee can do, For all we know ST could be yester year's hero
No point in keeping a roster spot for a player who never gets on the field....... no Jarrett Lee (or Tolzien), sorry. Norv has to win now........ a 3rd QB will not contribute this season. A far more likely scenario, is that Lee takes Tolzien's place on the 49ers' roster.
First thing the team should do is measure everyone's arm length. We can't have any short arm having guys on the 53 man. No way.

I have Spurlock over Parish only because I have a felling Bisaccia had something to do with getting him over t here
Spurlock maybe because of the Bissacia ties.. Parrish, no. Guarantee you he gets hurt somewhere in camp. hes played like 8 games the last two seasons. He's just a camp body and Norv will give Goodman another try after a great year last year and ending it with a bang.
IMO roscoe parrish when healthy is a lot better a wr then both spurlock and goodman the last 2 seasons he has had injury problems but the 5 years before that he hasnt had any notable injuries.. if roscoe doesnt make it then id much rather have spurlock over goodman.. id be both shocked and disappointed if goodman made the team
I don't get what the hate for the guy is. He average 20+ in kick off return yards. Thats quite hard to do when the opposing team is kicking off their 35 yard line. Yes he can't catch the ball or run a clean route but he is a special teams player. Similar to why Gachkar and Hester are and will still make the team. Norv loves Goodman, I highly doubt two guys almost in their 30's who've had injury problems will replace a kid we tendered and like. So get used to seeing him around..
eddie royal and michael spurlock are both better return guys not to mention a lot better wrs.. why would they waste the roster spot on goodman when he can only return kicks meanwhile royal and spurlock are both better return guys and can actually contribute on offense
I like Goodman, I think they want to see how good he is and are probably having him compete with 2 of the better in those categories with the thought that they want him to win the job, but then again they also loved Bryan Walters. I think between those 3 who ever wins that spot truly earned it because like I said Spurlock and Parrish were solid on KR/PR
and yeah the new rules on moving the kick off spot to the 35 inflates the return yard average because he takes it 7 yards deep every return so even if he only brings it out to the 20 thats a 27 yard return...
I'd rather keep Goodman, who showed he can actually play a full season unlike Spurlock and Parrish who have shown that their as fragile as glass. Goodman will make the team, I'm telling you Royal will be used similar to Darren Sproles. He will lineup in the backfield, go in motion out to WR, get the bubble screens, return punts, etc. Don't see him as a KR. AND also he'll be used as a slot receiver..
