Anyone have their fantasy drafts yet? I figured I'd make a thread for people to post their teams, give/get advice on who/what to start. General jeering, etc. Fantasy gets me even MORE stoked for the season!!! Anyways, I play in a 10 team standard rule league. We had our draft today, and here's what I got, in order of pick. BTW, I had the 2nd pick: Adrian Peterson Calvin Johnson Brandon Jacobs Ryan Grant Chad Ochocinco Matt Ryan Jonathan Stewart Ray Rice Matt Shaub Torry Holt Kellen Winslow LeSean McCoy Kevin Boss Vikings D/ST Mason Crosby Jerious Norwood Obviously I've got a lot of RBs, but I was really trying to draft with highest value, and these guys kept dropping into my lap. I'm thinking of starting: Peterson Jacobs Grant Johnson Ochocinco Ryan Winslow Vikings D/ST Crosby What do you guys think?
Do you mean depth wise? I figure Ochocinco will do a lot better than last year since Housh is gone, plus Palmer should be playing. Plus they'll be behind a lot so they'll be throwing a lot. Megatron... I don't think I need to explain that one. If you mean depth wise, then I'd agree with you. Problem is, there isn't really anyone worthy (other than unknown sleepers) on our waiver wire. I was thinking about dropping Norwood and grabbing M80 since I don't have any Bolts, and really I just grabbed Norwood to bug the #1 pick because he wanted him to handcuff Turner. I don't know, I'll probably wait until the season starts and see how things go.
Yes sorry, I meant depth. The WR bye week may be tough. There should be some injuries come up before then just keep your eye on the wire. You also have two QB and TE. Look at trading one of those. You probably could have gotten a decent WR @ the Matt Shaub position in the draft. All strategy my friend. :icon_toast:
Here is a good article... http://sports.yahoo.com/fantasy/blo...iwm68VEAPwmcanRk9.BE.5bZ8u?urn=fantasy,184441
I just had a crappy draft.... I got off my game with having the #1 pick. CoronaDoug 1. (1) Michael Turner 2. (20) Andre Johnson 3. (21) Roddy White 4. (40) Thomas Jones 5. (41) Antonio Gates 6. (60) Matt Ryan 7. (61) Derrick Ward 8. (80) Jerricho Cotchery 9. (81) Knowshon Moreno 10. (100) Darren Sproles 11. (101) Anthony Gonzalez 12. (120) Chicago 13. (121) Ahmad Bradshaw 14. (140) Ray Rice 15. (141) Domenik Hixon 16. (160) Chris Henry 17. (161) John Carney 18. (180) LeSean McCoy
Yeah, this is only my second year playing fantasy. I tried to buff up on my strategy, and it's leaps and bounds better than last year. I just kept getting these good RBs falling into my lap, and kind of sucked it up on WR. I'm going to be trading one of my TEs for sure. Only reason why I got Boss is Winslow was the best value at that spot for TEs, but I'm really not sold on him. With Eli's noodle arm, TE should be a good target for him, so here's hoping Boss works out. Shaub was kind of the same thing. Best value at the position. I think I'll wait for the first few weeks to pass before I get another WR, unless a gem pops up early.
You got Rice really late though, that's good. He's the starter on a run first O. Everything I've read says that he's way way undervalued. I had the #1 pick last year. It's a tough position man. I picked LT, which should have been money last year, but we all know how that went fantasy wise.
Here is my second draft in a 8 player league. 1. (5) DeAngelo Williams 2. (12) Andre Johnson 3. (21) Peyton Manning 4. (28) Ronnie Brown 5. (37) Vincent Jackson 6. (44) Ryan Grant 7. (53) Dallas Clark 8. (60) Kevin Smith 9. (69) Antonio Bryant 10. (76) San Diego 11. (85) Jonathan Stewart 12. (92) DeSean Jackson 13. (101) Knowshon Moreno
Third draft in a 10 team league. 1. (3) Michael Turner 2. (18) Andre Johnson 3. (23) Ronnie Brown 4. (38) Vincent Jackson 5. (43) Aaron Rodgers 6. (58) Roy Williams 7. (63) Greg Olsen 8. (78) Santonio Holmes 9. (83) Larry Johnson 10. (98) Miami 11. (103) Cedric Benson 12. (118) Lance Moore 13. (123) Donald Driver 14. (138) Ahmad Bradshaw 15. (143) Eli Manning 16. (158) Ted Ginn Jr. 17. (163) Tim Hightower 18. (178) Michael Jenkins
WHEW! Totally missed my draft - got stuck signing paperwork/taking tour for our new apartment but my auto draft was pretty good! Considering I didn't rank my players for an auto draft... the bye week is going to be tricky but there's time to figure it all out  QUARTERBACK Philip Rivers - QB/SAN WIDE RECEIVER Malcom Floyd - WR/SAN Chris Chambers - WR/SAN RUNNINGBACK LaDainian Tomlinson - RB/SAN Marion Barber - RB/DAL Dallas Clark - TE/IND Felix Jones - RB/DAL KICKER Rob Bironas - K/TEN Nate Kaeding - K/SAN DEFENSE Dallas - DEF LINEBACKER Curtis Lofton - LB/ATL Keith Bulluck - LB/TEN BENCH Darren Sproles - RB/SAN Jason Campbell - QB/WAS Antwaan Randle El - WR/WAS Brandon Pettigrew - TE/DET Sammy Morris - RB/DAL Tampa Bay - DEF
I'm amazed that you got PR and LT in an auto draft! Only glaring problem I see is at WR. You have a non-starter (M80), and Chambers isn't the receiver that puts up the points on our team. He's a WR3, borderline WR2 I think. Of course, he could blow up this year since he was doing great last year before he got hurt. Your other WR, Randle El isn't going to do great I don't think. Playing in the super rough division with a questionable QB is going to hurt his production. You're STACKED at RB, I'd try trading one of your Dallas RBs for WR1. Depending on your scoring system, either one would be good to keep. In a standard scoring league, I'd keep Barber since he's going to vulture all the goal line looks, but Felix Jones would be great in a PPR league. As a side note, I had Sammy Morris on my team last year. In that nasty morass that NE uses as a running back corps, he's the guy that gets the goal line looks. He's money and way undervalued IMO.
Sorry I haven't commented on your post. Not ignoring you, my dog ate my powercord for my laptop so I had to buy a new one. You are definitely weak at RB, and in a standard rules league RB is your money maker. Ryan Grant is going to have a huge year, but Ray Rice is iffy. He's got upside for sure, and will most likely be the starter but I think Le'Ron McClain will vulture the TDs. Plus McGahee is still there. I think Jamal Lewis will go out this year trying to prove he wasn't a fluke last year and fail. It almost was for sure a fluke. You've definitely got to pick up some RBs, either off waivers or in a trade. You could get good trade value off Shockey. I'd stick with Shiancoe, he was good last year with a crap QB, now he's got a good one.
Yeah bud, you've got a really good team in this draft! I have a preference to Felix Jones over Kevin Smith, but that's probably because I have a hard time relying on anyone from the Lions other than Calvin Johnson haha. Roy Williams is a good pick. He's got no other choice but to shine, and I'm sure he will. He's good, no idea why he sucked so bad last year other than I guess T.O. being such a douche. Not so sure Nate Washington will replace Steve Smith or Williams though. He's a great WR3, but barring any injuries I doubt he'll get enough points to go ahead of the other two, especially since he's in such a heavy run first system. Percy Harvin is another that is probably going to have a good year. He'll really benefit from Favre's arm, and they've been talking about him lining up everywhere in the offense. I'd feel pretty damn good about this team!
Some advice.... 1) Never draft a kicker 2) Never draft two TE's 3) Never draft two Def 4) Never draft two QB's This will give you 4 roster spots for depth. There are many injuries in the pre-season so one of these spots may end up being a jackpot. Grab a kicker after all of the pre-season games. This will assure that all of the injuries are done. So what if your starting QB is on a bye. Pick someone else up for that week. You can afford to lose a couple of games. It is all about the playoffs. Crap... you all just got the inside scoop. Don't join me leagues! :icon_tease:
Rodgers vjack ted ginn jr braylon edwards ladanian addai winslow san diego d that's what my starting lineup i just drafted looks like, should be ok, my bench looks like this julius jones felix jones jeremy maclin bulger berrian
Here is my 4th draft (out of 5). I have another draft later today. I don't care for this league too much. There are too many bench positions. This is why I drafted a kicker and three QB in this league. Only reason I got 3 was because two of them have a bye same week. I of course will be cutting one and watching the waiver wire. 1. (8) Larry Fitzgerald 2. (13) Chris Johnson 3. (28) Greg Jennings 4. (33) Ronnie Brown 5. (48) Antonio Gates 6. (53) Vincent Jackson 7. (68) Matt Ryan 8. (73) Santonio Holmes 9. (88) Beanie Wells 10. (93) San Diego 11. (108) Darren Sproles 12. (113) Ray Rice 13. (128) Ahmad Bradshaw 14. (133) Ted Ginn Jr. 15. (148) Michael Jenkins 16. (153) Tim Hightower 17. (168) Jake Delhomme 18. (173) Mason Crosby 19. (188) Jon Beason 20. (193) Jason Campbell
Here is my Final Draft! 1. (2) Michael Turner 2. (19) Randy Moss 3. (22) Ryan Grant 4. (39) Aaron Rodgers 5. (42) Chad Ochocinco 6. (59) Santonio Holmes 7. (62) Beanie Wells 8. (79) Ray Rice 9. (82) Donnie Avery 10. (99) Donald Driver 11. (102) Darren Sproles 12. (119) Derrick Mason 13. (122) Chicago 14. (139) Kevin Boss 15. (142) Ahmad Bradshaw 16. (159) Muhsin Muhammad 17. (162) Tim Hightower 18. (179) John Carney
I've got my draft at 7pm today and I'm picking first. Couldn't decide between Turner or Peterson. I'm leaning towards Turner as I think he'll get more touches with Ryan as his QB than Peterson will with Favre as his QB.
I know your draft is over now, so this is pretty moot, but Atlanta has already stated they were going to limit MT's touches to preserve him some. With Tony Gonzalez in town, and the growing (justifiably) confidence in Matt Ryan's arm, they'll be throwing a LOT more I think. AP is still the guy to pick first IMO. I got lucky with the second pick in my draft because the first pick had the same conundrum and went with MT. I think that will prove his downfall!
Hi Why do many Fantasy Football drafts use an alternating reverse draft order? For instance, if there are 12 teams, they will call 1 through 12 for round one, and then 12 through 1 through round two, and then back to 1 to 12 for round three.I don't see it as being any more "fair" than sequential drafting, because you still have folks who lose out, it's just that they are in the middle of the draft order instead of at the end.
just drafted. My team (in the parenth. is the round I drafted in). I picked 6th in a 12-team league. QBs - Matt Schaub (4), Mark Sanchez (11) RBs - Chris Johnson (1), Ahmad Bradshaw (3), Ryan Matthews (6), Michael Bush (10), Ben Tate (14) WRs - Roddy White (2), Wes Welker (5), Sidney Rice (8), Steve Smith (9), Davone Bess (13) TE - Kellen Winslow (7) K - David Akers (15) DEF - Dallas (12) want to trade for Rivers.... thoughts?
So I ended up with: Drew Brees Josh Freeman Micheal Turner Frank Gore Beanie Wells Knowshon Moreno Mike Williams Percy Harvin Austin Collie Julio Jones Jordy Nelson Jason Witten Marcedes Lewis Ryan Succop and NE D. I think I did ok for my first try and zero studying. I didnt even know if I should get WR/RBs that also return kicks.
i had the 11th pick, so heres mine 1. Philip rivers 2.Desean jackson 3.Wes welker 4 Jermichael finley 5 michael bush 6 ben jarvis green ellis 7 roy helu 8 vince young 9 anthony dixon 10 toby gerhart 11 ben obombanu 12 kevin walters 13 mike williams 14 neil rackers 15 ATL D
