One of the main reasons Rivers is having a good season is the fact that he has a very deep set of pass catchers to choose from, the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Spin: So far this season Rivers' completion rate (66.7 percent) ranks third in the league and his passer rating (96.3) is sixth thanks in large part to the depth and quality of San Diego's receivers. In addition to his starting wide receivers, Keenan McCardell and Eric Parker, Rivers also has one of the top tight ends in the league and one of the best pass-catching running backs in Antonio Gates and LaDainian Tomlinson. He has also been able to utilize the size and speed of Vincent Jackson and Malcom Floyd with regularity. Rivers only needs one or two of these guys to have good games to put up respectable numbers as a passer, and it seems like it will continue to happen more often than not.
