Let the record show that Leo never had faith in this man. But it in all seriousness it looks like this hiring is already hated on though. I'm reading the UT comments and it's all insults about his playcalling and how it was Manning's team. I'll tell you this though he didn't come in with a losing HC record like Norv did. Give the guy a chance...
"I think it's a good hire," Hester said. "It's a good, young fresh face getting in there. I enjoyed my time with him. What he was able to do as far as switching from Kyle Orton's offense to Tebow's offense to Peyton (Manning's) all within a year and a half is pretty impressive. I think you guys should be pretty excited." Given Denver coach John Fox's defensive background, McCoy has experience delivering messages to large groups, regularly addressing the entire offense. His sideline demeanor is considered to be fairly even-keeled. "He's not fiery as far on the field," Hester said. "He's not going to show you up, but definitely, he's going to get on you, in a good way, behind closed doors and make you accountable. As a player, you don't want a guy who's going to yell his head off the whole time. But he gets on you in a way that's good for the team."
Oh, you wanted a shouter?....... that's one fan fascination I'll never get. Is Belichick a shouter?....... no. He didn't even change expression when they scored a TD on Sunday. Emotionless, would be a more apt description of his demenor. Do fans care? No, not if you win.
yes, I wanter a bit more of a shouter simply because it would be the oposite of Norval. Belichick is not much of a shouter but i've seen him get fired up once or twice. mor often than norv anyway. we could use a bit more fire on our sidedline. but if he brings 90% of all the other things our sideline needs besides fire, i"ll be happy.
Opposite of Norval in style doesn't necessarily equate to opposite of Norval in results. Furthermore, similarities to Norval in style doesn't necessarily equate to equal results as Norval.
Gaslamp, we have a coach! I’ll admit I’m underwhelmed with this choice, but cautiously optimistic. One thing is for certain, it is highly unlikely that he’ll be worse than Norv Turner, who simply is not or has ever been a leader of men. One bit of info that troubles me is that the team intended to hire a coach this week and that had the Broncos won on Saturday, then McCoy would not be our next coach. Unless he is the guy they wanted all along (which I seriously doubt) then this strikes me as a rushed, panic move and those rarely work out well, Josh McDaniels in Denver & Todd Haley in KC are just 2 recent examples of that in the AFC West.
Im just hoping like Telesco he to blew them away in his interview, UTKevinAcee @UTKevinAcee RT@matilack: Skeptical of any "OC" of Peyton Manning. >OK, but Chargers ppl talked to speaking more of his relational/leadership skills. who is this Matilack The thing that impresses me most is the ability he had to shift his offense from Orton to Tebow to Manning in a matter of a year and a half and was able to gain success out of all 3. Not only did he have to adapt but his players and coaches all had to be taught the new scheme as well. Jon Fox is a defensive minded coach, I read Fox let McCoy take over the offensive side, team meetings and such On another note http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_McCoy_(American_football_coach) Wikipedia doesn't mess around
Dude has a serious neck go'n on.... I like the hire..he's young......he made Orton & Tebow look legit... This may be exactly what Philip needs....as long as he gets us an O-Line..... SUPERBOWL BABY!!! Ok....so I'm a little excited now....
Really think about what he can do for Rivers. Hes's work with all the greats in the game Delhome, Orton,Teabow,Manning. I mean this guys a god send thanks Dean.!!!
After listening to various interviews & press conferences, I’m beginning to think this is a similar situation to last April’s draft, in which we liked a certain person who could fill a pressing need, but didn’t think they would be available when we were ready to make a selection – when they surprisingly were ours for the taking, we pounced and I’m feeling a lot better about this hire than I was when the news first broke that McCoy was the pick. I also like the fact that every other team with a coaching vacancy was interested in this guy....
