yup, had 2 extra tickets, traded them , Then once we got inside, we hooked up with some other people. We all combined what we all had. They just dont make them like they used too!
1985 Cheap Trick-Night Ranger, Irvine Meadows (now Verizon Wireless) Amphitheatre. I had just started school at SDSU and went with friends who just started at UCSD and UCLA.
OK I was willing to cut turbo turtle some slack for his 1st concert being the Village People but.......... :icon_rofl: :icon_rofl: :icon_rofl: :icon_rofl: :icon_rofl:
I promised not to tell that he also went to NSYNC and Brittany Spear concerts that same year.... Whoops, I slipped. :icon_eek:
I hope that Carrie meant MTL and not me. :icon_eek: I know the Village People as a first Concert. It ranks right up there with the WTF were you thinking but it was with my mother and she wanted to see them and she also like them. So I get the double whammy going to a concert with my mother and seeing the Village People. I am ashamed.
My son went to his first concert with me...in 93... He won't let me post the group... OK, he's not here now... We got free tickets to Salt N Pepa and R Kelly.... :icon_mrgreen:
Me too, that was my first concert as well. You forgot the Flirts and yes, Modern English was that other band...I was 15...I remember the day 91X went alternative...Thier last rock song was stairway to heaven, followed by Sex by Berlin... TBF
:rockout: Definitely traveled in the same circles, man. My first show was Y&T and Lita Ford in Salinas, ca. My mom (bless her naive heart) let me go with my older sister's boyfriend and his buddy. I was 14!!! I drank 2 beers and was loaded. I did, however, manage to make my way to the rail and get a finger on Lita Ford's boot!!! She was soooo freakin' hot at the time. Then Y&T came on and I was flushed to the back... quick. Black Tiger is still one of my favorite albums of all time.
A month later though after I went with her to see the Village People. She went and saw with me at the theatres Star Wars. So I am less ashamed. She was happy and I became happy.
I guess it wasn't till I was in my late teens, but I went to see Blue Oyster Cult (opener), and Rush (feature) out here at the KS. Colliseum. Blue Oyster Cult wasn't really the same band that I had come to love (I think they had gone through some roster changes), but they were still ok. Rush was awesome though.
Oh it's been Uriah Heepin 1974 at the age of 16 in Mainz. The old "Lady in Black" group at their Demons and Wizards Tour Do you know them ?
IRON MAIDEN at the Baltimore Arena. I think this was in 84 during their "Piece of Mind" tour. I was 14 and Quite Riot was the opener.
