Wow....this morning this board reminds me of a Ford truck I had in Maine. In the winter at about 5 degrees, whenever I tried to start it, it would crank and crank....the cranking got slower and slower as the battery gave it all it had. Sometimes it started, and sometimes I had to either jump start it with my wife's car or put it on a battery charger for the day. Either solution was frustrating and time consuming. Selling the truck and moving to California solved that problem....I sure hope Thumper gets the folks on the other end to understand what "isn't" happening on this end.

Pretty bad... I can only imagine how frustrating it must be for Thumper.

Just finished with a 2+ hour conversation with the hosting company. I have been assured that this is being sent to their best techs and being giving their highest priority status. Of course they have told me this before and did NOTHING! So, I have my fingers crossed.

I was told that it should be resolved within 24 to 48 hours. Let hope they're right.

I'm betting they oversold their hosting service and have far too many sites on ONE server.

Not sure how much left is on the bolttak contract, but if you want suggestions for hosting providers, let me know.

Thanks, Eric, for all that you're doing. I was in IT for 20+ years - sounds to me, as CBF said, that the company has oversold it's resources. Is there any type of performance clause that can be exercised to get out of the contract early & w/o any penalty?

Just made a small donation. Hope it helps in continuing to make this the best Chargers site around.

In cruising around the forums, it seems to me to be the Rep Hos thread that is freaking slow to bring up. The other thing that takes forever is "submit reply".

My cursor is flickering in and out, too.

Does anyone else notice these things?

Been seeing these things as well as it takes a very long time for the rep box to display.

It's overload. The Charger fanbase is growing faster than BT can accommodate.

Who let the "secret" out?? :icon_shrug:

Wow, it took me 1/2 hour to post in 2 threads in the lounge - that includes clicking on last read, reply and next thread and reply - between 5:30 and 6 pm.

Perhaps a new "Name the Movie" thread could be started. The present one takes forver to load.

I've had the most slowing when going to the Lounge forum, and many times it's been around 6 pm. Since I went up to the Chargers forums it's gotten faster. Will try the Lounge again now.

I am not posting as much. I used to just come on and do a couple posts. Now, that takes so long, I am not gonna post as much.

My cursor is not flickering today at least. Logging on, clicking on a thread, submit reply is still taking awhile.

I am really sorry this is happening, because this is my favorite forum. They are jacking the Rabbit around and that is not right!:icon_evil:

Is there anywhere we can complain? Can we deluge someone's e-mail for ya Wabbit?

It's a pain for us and for Thumper. He's been working on this to the point of taking the forum down for a while today. I'm sure this will get fixed. Thank God we had good speeds during the season. :bolt::bolt::bolt:

No I didn't take down the forum today. This unexplained outage was due to our hosting company. I was not able to get any explanation other than "It may be temporary issue", and that was after holding for 4 hours.

I am looking at new hosting companies now and we will be hosted somewhere else soon.

That's my take, too. I'm sure that Eric has it covered. He doesn't seem like a guy who would miss this.

Yeah, they've already tried the CYA action of claiming that it's just our website and we're using all the server resources. I sent them back several emails explaining how this was not the case and they suddenly say that the issue has been re-opened and they are still working on it.

I don't think we'll re-coop much (if anything) from these guys.

On a positive note. Thanks to some timely donations, we will most likely be moving to a new server very soon. Possibly as soon as next week. I'll keep you updated.

It is working fine for me right now. For the first time in a long while, this thing is actually moving pretty well.

Interesting - I am getting the same kind of results - can move around the rest of the forums fairly readily - but getting anyplace in the lounge is like walking through quicksand.. That doesn't sound like a hosting problem to moi. Might be some other issues going on here. In any case, I've every confidence in Thumper.
