The way he referenced it, guy got real deep and emotional. "We are not gladiators, this is not the Roman Coliseum" --- Guy needs to relax lol then he kept bitching.. I didn't see anybody else stand up against the fans when that happened..
I don't see how you or anyone can hold that against him, No one player, coach or fan (with the exception of the Saints) ever want to see anyone get hurt. He had every right to get on the KC fans for what he thought were cheers to see a guy get hurt. The fact that he spoke up makes me think just the opposite, that is a guy I want protecting my QB. Sure it didn't leave as much of an impact as * Edit* Maximus Decimus Meridius "Are you not entertained?"
We'll have to see who they sign. With Avril leaving they need a DE as bad as they need a OT. If they sign an OT, they are going DE, if they sign a DE, they are going OT.
Well... sort of. It means for certain one of Fisher and Joeckel likely isn't getting past Detroit "most likely" (still an outside chance they give Bryant McKinnie a look considering they'll have been familiar with him from his time playing in Minnesota - just not sure they can afford him since he expects to get PAID). The real kicker will be whether KC takes the other one @ #1. Detroit's GM is a staunch BPA drafter - especially in the 1st round - he won't reach for Lane Johnson unless he honestly considers him to be the BPA (and he doesn't seem to factor position premium in too much either), so it really depends on how they view Riley Reiff (I doubt Jason Fox gets credit for much). Arizona is doing God knows what TBH - they look like they're going full-blown youth-movement, but with that in mind there's reason to believe they might actually give their two young tackles another go and supplement the line elsewhere (I wouldn't put Warmack past Steve Keim there TBH). Buffalo, unless they sign Kolb and even then, looks like they'll be fixated on a QB or at worst going the Cincinnati route from two years ago of WR in the 1st and QB in the 2nd (possibly with a trade-up involved). Jets should be fixated on a pass-rusher, considering they've struck out in acquiring one in FA thus far. Raiders are probably more of a legitimate threat than most now - given that they appear to be working a two year plan to vacate unsavory contracts and prep as much as possible for the likelihood of spending a Top 5 (or higher) pick in 2014 on a franchise QB (Tank for Teddy Campaign in full effect).
just checked, would have made more sense if this was yesterday when Colorado had its proday, nothing I've seen of any schools being Kansas City or Denver. Maybe they swung by and kidnapped Dummerville
Al Davis would have traded up to #1 overall for Ansah. You forget, Al didn't just like fast - he LOVED the Bruce Campbell kind of guys - the ones who regardless of production or development were freakishly big/strong/fast. Ezekiel Ansah is the closest thing to Al Davis' wet dream in this draft class aside from maybe Margus Hunt.
They were in Kansas City? Could have been a refuel/layover en route to Oklahoma. Maybe stopping for some BBQ?
I've listened to an interview with both Dunlap and Cox now (have not heard Rinehart as yet). What struck me is that both guys sounded quite smart. I focus on this when I first hear them speak. Contrast that with the first interview Gaither gave or even Manusky. Both sounded like either dumb asses or spoofers (in the case of Manusky). I'm liking what I heard from King and Cox. U can't beat a good communicator!
Yes, they way they communicate! Can you say, Pro Bowlers? Homerism: Being blindly devoted to your favorite sports team whether they are good or not. Saying clearly untrue things about your favorite team (i.e. Jamarcus Russell was the best qb ever)
Rinehart sounds like a dumb ***. Not in a bad way, just very happy and dumb. I've heard players sound very intelligent and play terrible and players sound like idiots and make the pro bowl.
Miami now making a strong push to re-sign OT Jake Long. I'm guessing his priced dropped, and Miami spent their money where they wanted to, and now feel like at his current price they want to re-sign him. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap10...rt-miami-dolphins-pushing-to-resign-jake-long
Anybody have a estimated cap number? I think we're near $115M, which would leave us about $4-5M to play with in free agency.
Someone on another site said If 17 was the actual number we still have @ 10 Which makes sense 2 for Cox @ 1 each for everyone else
Cox I don't believe is $2M on the cap this year, he might, but it was $10.25M guaranteed, with those guarantees coming in Year 1 & 2.
I saw somewhere that cox counts as 2 million against the cap this year too... 10.25 guaranteed but 5.25 in the signing bonus so it would make sense for him to receive a base salary of 2.5 million in the next two seasons
Bill Williamson @espn_afcwest #Chargers Slow day in division picks up. Woodhead to Chargers. Interesting. More to come on blog. https://twitter.com/espn_afcwest/status/312627530106535939
i like the pick up. good coming out of the backfield for brady, should work for rivers. i'm interested in seeing what mccoy has in mind for him.
Jake Long leaves STL without a contract, awesome. This means a few things, Miami will make a strong push for him, and he is likely returning there to talk contract details. If Miami signs him, puts one team without a need at LOT out of the running.
