Pierre Garcon in negotiations with Redskins Posted by Michael David Smith on March 13, 2012, 4:29 PM EDTRobert Griffin III may be getting a new receiver in Washington, six weeks before Griffin himself lands in Washington. Pierre Garcon, the free agent receiver who has played his entire four-year NFL career with the Colts, is in negotiations with the Redskins, Jason Cole of Yahoo Sports reports. The Colts tried to get a deal done with Garcon before free agency and it’s still possible that he’ll stay in Indianapolis, but he decided to test the market first. That may end up being a profitable decision because the Redskins are known to be interested in spending big to get a playmaker at wide receiver — even though the recent league ruling taking some of their salary cap space away has hamstrung their efforts. The 25-year-old Garcon started all 16 games for the Colts last year and, despite the absence of Peyton Manning, had career highs in catches (70), receiving yards (947) and touchdowns (six). He’s one of several big-name free agent receivers on the market, and is the first known to be actively negotiating with a new team.

The Bills will likely try to sign him shortly after his arrival, ensuring Williams doesn’t get the opportunity to visit any other teams. Williams is expected to command in the neighborhood of $45-50 million guaranteed, depending on the length of his contract. He’ll likely command north of $15 million annually. Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports that free agent wide receiverRobert Meachem will also visit the Bills on Tuesday night.

The Broncos need safety help, however, and they apparently assigned Meriweather a high free agent grade.Meriweather, who spent last season with the Bears, is the 75th-rated player on PFT’s Hot 100.
Gotta hope that Buffalo (!??!?!!!) doesn't beat us to the punch with Mario Williams and Robert Meachem
Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter Now Redskins on verge of signing 49ers WR Josh Morgan, too, to go along with Pierre Garcon..

ESPN’s Adam Schefter also mentioned Chicago as a likely destination for Campbell, during a Tuesday appearance on NFL Live. Rams showing interest in Tracy Porter and Jason Jones Posted by Evan Silva on March 13, 2012, 5:30 PM EDTThe Rams have scheduled a Friday visit with free agent cornerback Cortland Finnegan, and they plan to be aggressive in the meantime. Jeff Duncan of the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports that St. Louis has “reached out” to free agent cornerback Tracy Porter. Porter played for Rams defensive coordinator Gregg Williams with the Saints. Williams’ expected bounty-scandal discipline has not stopped St. Louis from pursuing his former players. Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter Ravens DE Cory Redding, in talks with Indianapolis, scheduled to visit Colts tonight. Titans DL Jason Jones to visit Rams.
Don't go blaming me for burning your marshmallows, you know how hot it is right now, you have to watch them
UTKevinAcee @UTKevinAcee LT might not be resolved for while. Gaither wanted to test market. Chargers legit want McNeill at lesser price, but he'll see $ out there
Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter San Francisco, Washington and Tampa Bay all pursuing free-agent CB Eric Wright.
Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter And now the 49ers also jumping in on Chiefs free-agent CB Brandon Carr.
Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter Red Bryant re-signing with Seattle: 5 years, $35 million, including $14.5 million gtd.
Michael Gehlken @UTgehlken Robert Meachem is in Buffalo, but #Chargers have reached out and inquired about the wide receiver, league source says. No visit planned yet
In otherwords, AJ got caught with his pants down and didn't have a backup plan. Laurent Robinson would be a massively dissapointing downgrade.
Not when he would likely cost 50% and provide 75% of the production. Bring in another guy who can provide 50-60& of the production, and we will be doing just fine
We we lost 8 games last year WITH Vincent Jackson, even if your estimate is right and Robinson is 75% the player is (a high estimate IMO) thats still means we're worse than last year. Just like Brees, just like Michael Turner, just like Darren Sproles, we will miss Vincent Jackson.....and likely waste our stupid compensation pick.
