Adam Schefter @AdamSchefte There is an agreement between free-agent WR Josh Morgan and Redskins. So two new WRs: Morgan and Pierre Garcon, so far. Eddie Royal on deck. Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter Redskins do not yet have an agreement with free-agent WR Eddie Royal, but both sides working to get a deal done.
ridiculous.. how do the Redskins have this money after the $36M hit they took.. unreal.. all the impact receivers quickly coming off the market.. I'm not surprised..
Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter Former Texans OT Eric Winston has visits lined up with the Dolphins, Chiefs and Rams.
Chargers focus on Meachem, Robinson with Jackson on way out Posted by Evan Silva on March 13, 2012, 7:08 PM EDT Kevin Acee of the Union-Tribune San Diegoreports that the Chargers “reached out” Tuesday to free agent wide receivers Laurent Robinson and Robert Meachem, in an effort to fill the role vacated by likely new Bucs wideout Vincent Jackson. Meachem has also drawn interest from the Rams and Bills. He’s currently in Buffalo for a free agent visit. Robinson, who spent 2011 training camp with the Chargers, is scheduled to visit the Jaguars. Though San Diego cut Robinson last summer, Chargers coach Norv Turner reportedly “loves his talent.” The Chargers have only veteran deep threat Malcom Floyd and 2011 third-round pick Vincent Brown under contract at the position, currently. Richard Goodman will be back, as well, but he’s strictly a special teamer.
Since we cut Bryan Walters at least Robinson wouldn't have to compete with that plucky kid from Cornell......
Laurent Robinson's best carrer season before 2011: 34 rec, 344yds, 2TDs No thanks, I'm not buying the one year wonder.
UTKevinAcee @UTKevinAcee Maybe @JeremyShockey will end up on Chargers' radar. I know they want to add pass-catching TE, but haven't shown interest in other UFA TEs.
You wanna see an amazing friggin prediction.....http://bolttalk.com/threads/am-i-the-only-one-really-impressed-by-walters.25284/page-2#post-671833 NAILED IT! 3 catches and done baby! Happy to say I never believed in Walters for a minute.
Big market for John Carlson Posted by Mike Florio on March 13, 2012, 8:05 PM EDTTight end John Carlson has hit the open market, and he may not be there for a long. Per a league source, Carlson will visit the Chiefs. But several teams are interested, including the Colts, Buccaneers, Bears, Vikings, Cowboys, and his current team, the Seahawks. A Minnesota native who played at Notre Dame, Carlson missed all of 2011 with a torn labrum in his shoulder. In three seasons before that, he appeared in 47 regular-season games, with 36 starts. Carlson has 137 career receptions, for 1,519 yards and 13 touchdowns.
this is nothing but fluff to give the impression that AJ/Dean are actually trying to win. This is the same type of fluff PR that most penny-stock companies put out. It is all about 'hype'
Peyton Hillis visiting Kansas City Posted by Michael David Smith on March 13, 2012, 8:10 PM EDTGetty ImagesPeyton Hillis’s new home could be in Kansas City. Hillis, the free agent Browns running back, will pay a visit to the Chiefs, Mary Kay Cabot of theCleveland Plain Dealer reports.Although he was one of the NFL’s biggest disappointments in 2011, Hillis has shown flashes of talent, especially in 2010 when he had 270 carries for 1,177 yards, added 61 catches for 477 yards, and scored 13 touchdowns. The Chiefs could have themselves a good running attack if they could pair a healthy Hillis with a healthy Jamaal Charles in their backfield.Hillis checks in at No. 39 on our Free Agent Hot 100.
I have appreciation for teams that actually have a resonable plan of action, even when they're division rivals. As opposed to the Chargers talking about being the next place Jeromy Shockey fails at. Hilllis would be an amazing addition to that offense.
Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter Vincent Jackson deal in Tampa: 5 yrs, $55.55 million, including $26 million guaranteed, $36 million in 1st 3 yrs, $26 million in 1st 2 yrs.
UTKevinAcee @UTKevinAcee Vincent Jackson gets $2 million roster bonus and $11 mil salary in 2012 and $13 million fully guaranteed base salary next year from Tampa.
Chiefs to meet with free agent Mike Tolbert Posted by Evan Silva on March 13, 2012, 8:57 PM EDTReutersPeyton Hillis isn’t the only “big back” visiting the Kansas City Chiefs. Adam Teicher of the Kansas City Star reports that the Chiefs will be hosting free agent Mike Tolbert on Wednesday. Tolbert, a 5-foot-9, 243-pound bowling ball with surprising versatility, might be a slightly cheaper power back option to complement starter Jamaal Charles. MDS posted earlier that Hillis will visit Kansas City, though the date of the meeting is unclear. Hillis is 6-foot-2, 250, so it’s pretty clear the Chiefs are targeting a powerful change-of-page runner to for their backfield.

Report: Bills “fully expect” to sign Mario Williams, Robert Meachem Posted by Mike Florio on March 13, 2012, 9:06 PM EDT Getty ImagesThe Bills planned to make a big splash in free agency. If they get their way, they’ll do a Ted Washington cannonball from the high dive. Joe Buscaglia of WGR 550 in Buffalo reports that the Bills “fully expect” to sign Texans defensive end Mario Williams and Saints receiver Robert Meachem within the next 24 hours. Williams, the first overall pick in the 2006 draft, would be the biggest free agent since Reggie White, but for the presence of Peyton Manning on the market. Choosing Buffalo would breathe life and legitimacy into a franchise that long has been ignored. Meachem, who started slowly in New Orleans after joining the team via round one of the 2007 draft, would be paired with Stevie Johnson, giving quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick another weapon.
****** ****. Mario was never a possibility, but AJs complete lack of initiative on Meachem is unbelievable.
Colts in contract talks to keep free agent Reggie Wayne Posted by Evan Silva on March 13, 2012, 9:21 PM EDT Getty ImagesThe Indianapolis Star reports that the Colts are rekindling the idea of re-signing free agent wide receiver Reggie Wayne, and were in contract talks as of Tuesday evening. The receiver market has thinned out quickly.Vincent Jackson, Stevie Johnson,Marques Colston, Pierre Garcon, Josh Morgan, Randy Moss, and Harry Douglashave signed contracts. Some reports suggestEddie Royal and Robert Meachem have also picked new homes. Dwayne Bowe, DeSean Jackson, and Wes Welker were franchise tagged. Wayne doesn’t seem to be generating a whole lot of interest, so perhaps the Colts are hoping to re-sign him on the cheap. The Star also reports that the Colts are in conversations with free agent defensive end Cory Redding.
