Ooo Jerome Simpson is still available. Yea he was a limited sensation last year, but if he comes at less than 4 a year lets give him a 2-3 year shot.

Since KO has been suggested to drag back, lets get LEGS back.

Sounds like the Bills are pretty confident they're gonna land Meachem, and Robinson is visiting Jacksonville tomorrow who desperately need recievers and have cap space to burn.

Which means we're probably down to Lloyd and Manningham, and the slough of C+ level recievers like Jerome Simpson, Early Doucet, Braylon Edwards, TJ Houshmanzedah, Roy Willams etc...

    Lions will host Ted Ginn

Posted by Mike Florio on March 14, 2012, 9:39 AM EDT

The value of receiver/return specialist Ted Ginnwas demonstrated in the NFC title game, by his absence.
A knee injury kept Ginn out of action for the 49ers, and his replacement committed two key errors, including a fumbled punt return in overtime that put the Giants in field-goal range.
Ginn could now miss more than just one game for the 49ers. He’s a free agent, and Anwar Richardson of MLive.com reports that Ginn will visit the Lions.
Though Ginn would add a body to the depth chart on offense, he almost certainly would supplant Stefan Logan as the team’s kick and punt returner.
Ginn was the ninth overall pick of the 2007 draft. Miami traded him to San Francisco in 2010. A pay reduction last year wiped out the final year of his rookie deal, putting him on the market now.

The Saints have placed the exclusive franchise tag on Drew Brees, which means he’s not allowed to negotiate with any other team, and therefore his only leverage in negotiations is the threat that he simply won’t sign at all. And Brees sounds like he’s ready to use that leverage.
Brees said on Mike and Mike in the Morningthat after signing the one-year franchise tender with the Chargers in the 2005 season, only to suffer a serious injury to his throwing shoulder at the end of that season, he’s in no mood to sign the one-year franchise tender again. Instead, Brees wants the Saints to commit to him for the long term.
“I’ve played under the franchise tag before, back in 2005, and that ended with 13 anchors in my right shoulder and a 25 percent chance of playing football again,” Brees said. “That didn’t work out too well for me. I’ve talked to the Saints about this many times. They definitely know my desire to have a long-term deal, and hopefully they want me to have that as well. We will continue discussions and hopefully get a long-term deal done.”
Brees is making the promotional rounds as part of an endorsement deal, but he sounded like he wasn’t particularly thrilled to be talking about his contract — and not particularly thrilled that his contract is still an issue after he and the Saints’ brass had said repeatedly during the season that they fully expected a deal to get done. Brees did, however, express some optimism.
“I’m still hoping that we can get something done sooner than later,” Brees said.
But if they don’t get something done, the Saints better not count on Brees reporting for the one-year franchise tender.

Tuesday’s signings of Josh Morgan and Pierre Garcon are intended to upgrade the Redskins’ receiver corps, but they are inevitably going to cost other wideouts roster spots.
As the Washington Times‘ Rich Campbell hints, longtime leading receiver Santana Moss could be on the chopping block.
Moss, who turns 33 in June, is due a $2.65 million salary. Per Campbell, the Redskins would save $1.3 million if they released Moss before June 1, and $2.83 million if they released Moss with the post-June 1 designation.
Cutting Moss is all but a no-brainer for Washington. The club is flirting with free agent Eddie Royal to take his slot position in three-receiver sets, and Moss already lost his job in the base offense to Garcon.

Eric Weems is leaving Atlanta for Chicago.
The Bears have announced the signing of Weems, a receiver and return man who has spent his entire five-year career with the Falcons.
Weems hasn’t made much of an impact on offense during his time in Atlanta: Last season he caught 11 passes for 90 yards, and both of those numbers are career highs. But he provides depth at the receiver position, where the Bears also just traded forBrandon Marshall, and he’s a good special teams player.
Last year Weems returned 24 kickoffs for a 23.5-yard average, returned 32 punts for a 9.8-yard average, and had 12 tackles in kick coverage.

Last night I was thinking about HOW TB got 41 mil in cap space?? I bet Morris had something to do with a few players there working for just above vet minimum. I would have gave him one more year.

Jelous. If they can add Trent Richardson in the 1st or David Wilson in the 2nd they'll have all the talent and weapons they need. It just comes down to Josh Freeman, an incredibly talented kid, to lead that team to the promise land.

Oh and BTW...NFC South is unbelievable.

Are you aware of our cap situation at all?

Depending on how we structured the contracts of Hardwick and Meachem we probably only have about 9-10M left including the players we tendered. Signing Nicks would have drained us, and Gaither (who plays a more important position) is not signed yet.

HOLE ****!!!!! That is just ridiculous no matter how great of a player he is. That is the type deal that will hurt them in the future and prevent them from signing other players

Steve Gregory to visit the New England Patriots. Will he suddenly be missed by Chargers fans if Bill Belichick signs him?

Adam Schefter had a funny tweet asking what Jamarcus Russel (#1 overall pick 2007) thinks about the contract Calvin Johnson (#2 overall pick 2007).

    I tweeted back:
    Loren S. Casuto, Esq@LorenSCasuto

Sorry for starting the Nicks thread outside here... did not see we had a all encompassing FA thread going on.

Unreal what the Bucs have done.
