Almost 3 turnovers, but the Floyd play was overturned. Just stupid, stupid football. I thought that the offensive strategy was sound and solid, but the playcalling didn't take in account the horrible execution by the players. Penalties will always kill you, and I thought that this team had finally realized that after such a clean regular season.
Feels like I"ve been punched in the gut and just saw my favorite dog die all wrapped into one. My buddy's a Broncos fan, he told me the Bolts would choke in the playoffs. I absolutely thought with how they've played this season they were past any kind of choke-job. Looks like I was wrong. How do we keep rooting for a team that absolutely dominates in the regular season and then looks like a little-league team in the playoffs?
There actually some game balls to give out IMO. Offense - Darren Sproles. When called upon, Sproles was still there to make plays. He was actually a hot receiving threat and even pulled Kerry Rhodes and Darrelle Revis to his side a few times, which opened up two plays for Floyd that he screwed up. Defense - Linebackers. We had their number in that first quarter and the Jets did everything, sometimes enough sometimes not to compensate. Philips decided to pull a Drayton Florence in what has got to be the worst flashback to 2007 ever. But he was actually pretty solid, save for a terrible arm tackle on a reverse that thankfully didn't burn anyone. ST - Always love Mike Scifres. Why is it that he has career days when Kaeding has bad ones. Goat - Nate Kaeding. Scoreboard says 3 pt loss and Kaeding had 6 easy points he failed on. Looks like someone lost a football game for his team...
