And as I mentioned...
I guess I was wrong.
I understand completely.
Again I ask... WHO CARES?
As usual.
Yes. Thinking the 8 of you would understand something as simple as that is thinking too far out of range. I agree.
It seems like the players like and respect Norv and they did respond to him during that four game run. Now, if RR can light a fire under our D we'll get to see this team shine.
We will have Merriman back to take care of the D.
In 2007, Norv Turner became just the sixth coach in NFL history to lead his team to the conference championshio game in the first season with the club.
I'm hoping that in 09, Norv is the first Bolt's HC to lead his team to a Lombardi!!!!!
i dont doubt at all he can do it, i know others do, but i have faith in my team!
I respect the opinions of those who doubt Norv, or do not like Norv, yet back the team regardless.
It is when people let their personal opinions of Norv cloud their opinion of the team, other players or the GM that I begin to question what is going on.
Like Norv or not, his offensive game plans more often than not have been good through 07 and 08. There are games where it was not, but more often than not, the game offensive game worked and well. Look, Rivers led the league in QB rating in the 08 season, no small feat IMO. A lot of that is indeed Rivers. A lot of that is Norv as well, calling the plays that Rivers can excel at.
So I am giving him the benefit of the doubt. 08 was not what I expected or wanted, but the team rallied at the end, instead of falling apart. That is part due to Norv as well, regardless of what some myopically suggest. 08 had a plethora of issues, injuries and distractions. That we did not end up with a lesser record to me says that this team and its coach did a great job. Talented teams in NFL history have crumbled under injuries and distractions like the Chargers faced this season.
I am not asking you to agree. Feel free to disagree, but this is my opinion on the matter.
Hmmmmmm. You must have been watching a different team. Up until December in both seasons, they were completely unprepared to start and were playing with zero passion.
In that four game run, I think the players responded to themselves.
Keep in mind, an onside kick and a melting Denver team got us to the playoffs. If they have so much respect for Norv, we wouldn't have reached that point of desperation.
Though he'll be back next season and we ALL want a Super Bowl title.
As long as there's a pulse, there's a chance but we can't have a slow start this season. Especially with our schedule.
Oooooohhhh... So... LT didn't have anything to do with coaching them to those final 4 wins?
Jeezus... make up your mind dude.
Did they coach themselves?
Did LT coach them?
Did Norv & the coaches coach them?
Or was it all just a series of lucky bounces?
Oh... I know... All of the above?
There's your answers.
Stop giving yourself props and explain this...
If they respect Norv so much then who or what is to blame for the slow starts, not being prepared to start, and lack of passion.
It was the same way last season. So leave injuries out of it.
Earn your props.
I am finding this highly amusing during the off season.
This is the ultimate team sport.
Did you learn anything in Rec League?
Thank you for your post and clarifying what most in here already knew about you, you don't know **** about football. I guess Gruden losing his team in the last month, another man you have wood for should coach our team. Shannahan (sp) who has a ring and is great according to your logic lost his team in the last QTR of the season. Both of these coaches got the ax because they lost their team, Norv got his to perform and they responed well. Spin it any way you wish but go play your childish games with someone else.
No s***, Dick Tracy.
Yes I learned many things in the recreational league (football, baseball, lacrosse, and soccer). I learned that if the players don't have the coach's respect... they don't stand a chance in Hell.
I had been with some very good teams that under achieved because the coach was lousy. I had also been with some teams that were mediocre at best that over achieved because the coach was great.
Seems that you think a coach is nothing more than a fan who gets to stand on the sidelines and collects a pay check.
First things first... Shannahan has two rings.
So he and Gruden got fired, each have a ring or two and you're telling me how lousy they are. Well Norv's been fired twice (as HC) and has no rings (as HC).
Now who doesn't know **** about football?!!! :hilarious: :hilarious: :hilarious: :hilarious:
The 8 of you are clowns!!! :hilarious:
Dungy's team under Gruden coached themselves to a Super Bowl win. John Elway coached the Bronco's in both win's for the Donk's. Neither coach did nothing after those teams coached themselves to championships.
Conc - I am giving Norval the benefit of MY doubts too.
(Suggestion - how about a well researched thread entitled "getting to know Ron Rivera" and his new defensive staff? I'd love that one). JMHO
Listen a team improves under a better coach, not regresses. That's why they got to the Super Bowl and won with Gruden.
Then they lost the majority of the players that made that team. Though Gruden had A LOT of success in Oakland before hand. Had Al not gone psycho, Gruden would still be with the Raiders and they may have won it.
As for Shannahan... we're taking about Super Bowl champion teams, not a team the went for 4-8 to 8-8. Where the Hell did you come up with this comparison.
Is one of your goons sitting beside you and whispering into your ear what to post or are you this clueless?!!!
Again... Who doesn't know **** about football?!!! :hilarious: :hilarious: :hilarious: :hilarious:
Keep it coming though. You're a good clown and you're making me laugh!! :hilarious: :hilarious:
Yeah your right, your very own words are pretty stupid and clueless and you do entertain a lot of folks on this Bolt's board. Keep up the good work, I enjoy laughing at you, as do many others.
Good idea! Start one!
Too bad the rec league didn't have any programs to teach you "deductive reasoning".
You are seriously spun.
Like I said, it is very entertaining.
Like I said... "Gruden got fired, though he has a ring.
Shannahan got fired and he has two rings.
Norv's been fired twice (as HC) and has no rings (as HC) and you think these three coaches are comparable."
NOW THAT'S FUNNY!!!!! :hilarious: :hilarious: :hilarious:
Oh. Even a bigger laugh...
95-77-0 (Regular Season)
1 (Super Bowl win)
138-90-0 (Regular Season)
2 (Super Bowl wins)
77-95-1 (Regular Season)
Who doesn't know **** about football?!!! :hilarious: :hilarious: :hilarious:
You seriously need to work on your comparisons, Jack!!! :hilarious:
I just want to go on record right this instant and say that I should be given all the credit for this post.
Without my tutelage you would not have discovered the ability to research, compute, and combine all of these facts and data into such a coherent and well-delivered message.
(Disclaimer: I do admit that I have not and will not confirm the accuracy of these numbers nor that the post actually addresses the original point. But shiit... this kid's actually showing some promise!)
Now I know who the goon was that was sitting beside HEXEDBOLT and whispering into his ear what to post in the last 5-6 clueless posts on this thread!!!
 :hilarious: :hilarious: :hilarious: :hilarious:
Separate names with a comma.
